He has published more than 250 journal articles and book chapters and is the recipient of numerous scientific awards.
He loves the variety of challenges he faces with the four hats he wears. He went into this profession because of his desire to make people well through developing direct care, transfer of knowledge through education, discovery of new ways to diagnose and treat people and by establishing policies beneficial to the patients. He was able to train over twenty five young Asian Pacific urologists at Beaumont, some stayed and opened practices in the U.S. while others returned to their native country where they are now successful practitioners and leaders.
His formula for success is: Know your business and speak out, Lead rather than follow, Be fair and Learn how to play in the sandbox -- Be a team player.

Bangkok 96 Restaurant & Thai Feast LLC
|
The pilgrimage that led to the creation of Bangkok 96 Restaurant & Thai Feast started when Genevieve Vang was a young child living in Laos. Growing up in the "City of Love", Genevieve continued to develop her love for the culinary arts. After working in the first Thai restaurant in Wayne County (Bangkok Tiger), Genevieve and Guy Vang decided they were ready to start their own restaurant, and that's how Bangkok 96 Restaurant became a reality. Thai Feast was created to show the world how significant Thai cuisine has been to Genevieve Vang's life. Thai Feast allows Asian food lovers to enjoy gourmet Thai cuisine with the simple ease of preparing a frozen dinner.
Her restaurant, Bangkok 96, in Dearborn, MI, is consistently voted #1 Thai restaurant by Channel 4 WDIV-TV, and was awarded two business awards this year: Spirit Leadership Award by the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce, and Business Leader of the Year by the State of Michigan signed by Governor Rick Snyder, Congressman George Dararny of the Fifteenth District and Congressman Morris W. Hood III of the Third District. These two awards are reminders for the entire family on how far they've come, and it continues to encourage them to work harder. Her commitment to healthy, innovative and high quality foods has brought her recognition even in Hollywood.
The restaurant continues to give back to several communities to show their appreciation and respect. The frozen food company is creating buzz about Thai food coming out of Dearborn, Michigan. In addition, their products are gluten-free without MSG. They are also in the process of creating more vegetarian products to promote healthier eating.
One of the challenges they faced was dealing with food brokers across the country. It was trial and error for the first six months because during that time they were just starting to market the brand. Once they replaced old brokers with new brokers who were more cooperative and hungry for success, they were able to fix the problem. Overall, their success strategy is to be different and make healthier food that still tastes good.
