Father,

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the abundance of your good gifts showered upon us from morning to night, day by day, month by month. Your goodness knows no measure. Your grace is unrestrained. You take such pleasure in your children. Your kindness gladdens our hearts. Your presence is our confidence and our joy. Though at times we walk through the darkest valley we fear no evil. For you are with us (Psalm 23, NIV). Your goodness surrounds us and calls us forward as a beacon in the night. Our words are inadequate to express the gratitude we feel. Father, thank you for another year of your abundant goodness. May our lives and words evince our gratefulness for your greatness.

December 16: Fourth annual SageWorks Christmas Carol Worship, Wednesday, December 16, 5:45 - 8:00 p.m., South Hills Campus, room 180.

This sage favorite is an evening of Christmas readings and Christmas hymns in a family atmosphere. Hors d'oeuvres are served at 5:45 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m. This is a terrific way to help us stay focused on the true meaning of Christmas.
 
Register online. Bring your favorite Christmas hors d'oeuvres or dessert to share. We need more hors d'oeuvres than desserts so please consider bringing an hors d'oeuvre. It will help us in our planning if you let us know which you are bringing. You can indicate that when you register.

Save the date! May 13-14 mini-conference: When They Turn Away.
 
Do you have a prodigal son or daughter or know someone who is a prodigal. This conference will explain why so many of our children are turning away from the faith and show us how we can draw them back. More information will be coming in the months ahead.
 
Service Opportunities
  1. Ministry to shut-ins. Linda Fowler is spearheading a ministry of letter writing and encouragement to those who have difficulty getting out and fellowshipping with other Christians. If you would like to be involved in writing letters, sending cards, making phone calls, or even making occasional visits contact Linda, lkfowler22@comcast.net or (412) 595-8424. Also let Linda know if you know someone who would like to receive letters and calls.
  2. Senior Information Coordinator. SageWorks would like to be able to schedule information seminars and otherwise make senior services information available. A motivated coordinator is needed to organize this information and make it available to others. If you have a passion to help older adults and are can organize this service please contact Wayne Johnson, WJohnson@biblechapel.org or (724) 941-8990.
