August brings the last of our FREE Brown Bag Lectures. City Archivist, John Slate, will talk about many of the items from the city archives related to the JFK assassination.

JFK at 50: Preserving Dallas History
with City of Dallas, Archivist,
John Slate

John will present an illustrated lecture on the history and contents of the  John F. Kennedy Collections, comprised of records from the Dallas Police Department.

SALUTE TO JUDGE SARAH T. HUGHES
 
The DHS held a special Fellows Member event at the Old Post Office and 
Courthouse at 400 N. Ervay on June 26, 2013. A panel of former law clerks of Judge Hughes told stories about the times and working with the judge.

 The panel was moderated by Historian, Darwin Payne (author of the book the Indomitable Sarah: The Life of Sarah T. Hughes). Others on the panel included former Hughes law clerk Regina Montoya and Former Congressman, Martin Frost.  Local historian,Noah Jeppson gave brief remarks on the building's history.
