AUCTION DONATIONS NEEDED
The MLHS Football Boosters need donations for their Football Fundraiser.  They are looking for items to auction off at the Fall Football Titan Oriental Express.  You can donate an individual item, a few items for a basket or create your own theme basket to donate.  Donations can be brought to the school office and left with Mrs. Sievert by Friday, November 13, 2015.  Please attach your name to the item so we know whom to give credit for the donation.  Please mention that it is for the Football Auction.   We appreciate your support!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and Michigan Lutheran High School is in need of local families willing to host an international student (or two) in their homes during the break. Please contact the International Program Coordinator, Heidi Plocher via email: internationals@michiganlutheran.org or phone: 269-556-9270, ext. 1313. Please leave your name and phone number if calling, and Mrs. Plocher will contact you as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity to "share Christ through hospitality", and make a new friend.



 
BLUE STAR MOTHERS EVENT AT MLHS
Chapter 177 of the Blue Star Mothers of America will sponsor their thirteenth annual "support our troops" open house on Saturday, November 14, from 1-4 PM at MLHS. Everyone is welcome. The group is collecting items to prepare Christmas care packages to send to over 2000 soldiers. They have spent over $10,000 in postage alone! This is an amazing event and well worth your support and attendance. There will be special guests and a visit from Santa. You can send donations to PO Box 76, Stevensville, MI 49127 or drop them off at Michigan Lutheran High School the week of November 9th.
 Popular donated items include: Individual snacks, jerky, slim jims, small cans of fruit and soup in pop top cans, drink mix for water, gum, hard candy, etc. Personal items to donate would include toothbrushes, toothpaste, chap stick tissues (pocket packs) eye drops, foot and hand warmers...etc. An entertainment list would include: decks of cards, Frisbees, puzzle books, magazines, etc.
 
If you know a soldier who is currently serving in the US Military, who would benefit from a Christmas care package, please email the name and address to asievert@michiganlutheran.org.

TRANSCRIPT REQUEST?
ML has switched to an online transfer of documents called "Parchment".  Parchment is an online database that will transfer an official transcript to a college, or address requesting it.  You can request your transcript by going to our ML Website:  www.michiganlutheran.org and clicking on the box, "Request my transcript"  on the right side of the home page.  If you have any questions about this service, please contact Mrs. Sievert in the office.




REDUCED PRICE FOR STUDENTS 
Student presale tickets will be sold to MLHS Students as well as 6th -8th graders wanting to attend any of the away BCS Conferences Games at a reduced rate.  The $2 for presale tickets will go to ML, otherwise the students will pay $5 at the door.  The tickets will be available in the athletic office the day of the game.  The following list contains the schools in the BCS Conference:  Comstock, Brandywine, Bridgman Bronson, Cassopolis, Centerville, Countryside, Berrien Springs, Buchanan, Parchment, White Pigeon, New Buffalo, Mendon, River Valley, Lake Michigan Catholic, Howardsville and Grace Christian.

2015 WELS National Choral Fest
Next weekend the Festival Singers will be representing Michigan Lutheran High School at this year's WELS National Choral Festival. The Festival will be held at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson, Wisconsin, over the weekend of November 13-15.
  
Festival performances will include the Friday night Pops Concert (7 PM Central Time) and the Sunday afternoon Sacred Concert (2 PM Central Time). Both concerts will be live streamed at both www.welsfinearts.org and www.blc.edu/wels-choral-fest, so if you can't make it to Wisconsin, tune in to hear these amazing performances by over 400 of our young people. It's sure to be an amazing weekend of music!

  
 



2015 MLHS Christmas Concerts
That's right - this year the students of the MLHS Music Department will be presenting TWO completely unique concert performances to help kick off your Christmas celebration! Join us for BOTH of them!
 
The Christmas Pops! Concert will be performed at 4:15 PM on Sunday, December 6th. This concert will be presented by the band students in our elementary and high school programs and will feature a mix of sacred and secular Christmas favorites.

   
At 7:00 PM that same day (Dec. 6) we will also present this year's Sacred Christmas Concert - "Born is the King!" The band and choir students of the high school programs, as well as the Adult Lutheran Chorale of Michiana, will perform a mix of carols and anthems to help you prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus, our Savior and King.
 
Please consider joining us for BOTH of these wonderful concert events! In addition, we will also have our annual Chili Supper and Cookie Walk from 5:00-7:00 PM, hosted by the Class of 2017, so come for both concerts and stay for supper in between!



 
Adult Lutheran Chorale
It's once again time to put together this year's Lutheran Chorale! We're going to be starting our short season of rehearsals this weekend in preparation for the Christmas Concert in December. Remaining rehearsals will be November 22, and 29 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the MLHS Music Room.
 
We're looking for any adults who love to sing to join us for this choir! The mass choir of high school and adult singers is truly one of the highlights of our Christmas Concert, so please consider singing with us this year!




Fall Sports Banquet
Tuesday, November 17th at 6:30
The annual fall sports banquet will be held on Tuesday, November 17, beginning at 6:30 PM.  All participants in fall activities will receive recognition.  Each family that plans to attend is asked to bring a main dish and salad, or a main dish and a dessert.  Please provide your own table service. Please offer generous portions so that no one is left without enough to eat.  Rolls and beverages will be provided.  We look forward to seeing you!
