CALENDAR CHANGE and HELP NEEDED
The jv volleyball quad scheduled for 10/20 is now a Tri.   Matches are scheduled for 5:30, 6:15, and 7:00.  The games will be held at Michigan Lutheran not at Grace Lutheran School. 
This week Saturday, October 24, our Titan Football Team will play their last home game at New Buffalo High School beginning at 2:00 PM.  It is Parents' Day.
We need a volunteer grill cook for next Monday's home volleyball matches against New Buffalo (10/26)  If you can help please contact the athletic office.




 
HALF DAYS FOR MLHS STUDENTS

On October 23, students will be released at 11:38 to allow for early sports practices so Koine and ML can setup for the evening reception and concert.  We will have class periods 3,4,5, and 6.  

On November 25, there will be an early release for Thanksgiving Break.  Class periods will be 1,2,7, and 8.  Classes will dismiss at 11:46 on that day.

 
45th Anniversary of MLHS Celebratory Banquet
On Thursday, October 22, 2015 the 45th Anniversary of Michigan Lutheran High School will be observed at a special ML Foundation / Association Banquet beginning at 6:00 PM in the Michigan Lutheran High School Gymnasium. Our guest speaker for the evening will be Pastor Mark Jeske from St. Marcus Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI. Pastor Jeske also heads the "Time of Grace" ministry. He will speak on the importance of Christian Education at all levels. Please be our guest to enjoy a fine meal and learn more about the ministry at YOUR Lutheran High School. There is no charge for the evening; we only ask you to sign-up at your home congregation or call Amy Sievert at (269) 429-7861, Ext. 201 so we will know how many to anticipate. ML STUDENT FALL OUTING AT BARBOTT'S CORN MAZE
Student Council will be hosting the Annual Corn Maze Adventure at Barbott's Farm on
Saturday, October 24. Sign up on the activity board located outside the ML school office. Cost is $7 for students who sign up by the end of the day on Friday, October 23. Please turn your payment in to the school office when signing up. 

Meet at Barbott's at 5:30pm (after the football game that afternoon). Late arrivals will pay full price. Following the corn maze there will be a bonfire at the Titan Center until 10 PM.



High School Youth Group
Youth Group will start up again this year on October 25 at 6:00 pm at the Titan Center in St. Joe (near MLHS).  All high school students are invited to come for a short Bible study, some pizza, and then some games.  We hope to meet about once a month and have a different activity planned.  Invite your friends!  If you plan to come, please let Pastor Ehlke know - email him bae@stpaulswels.org or text 269-759-9935.  Hope to see you there!


 


WANTED AT THE TITAN CENTER

The Titan Center is looking for a donation of either a new or gently used karaoke machine to be used in the Student Lounge for a variety of student-focused activities. 

  




 
BLUE STAR MOTHERS EVENT AT MLHS
Chapter 177 of the Blue Star Mothers of America will sponsor their thirteenth annual "support our troops" open house on Saturday, November 14, from 1-4 PM at MLHS. Everyone is welcome. The group is collecting items to prepare Christmas care packages to send to over 2000 soldiers. They have spent over $10,000 in postage alone! This is an amazing event and well worth your support and attendance. There will be special guests and a visit from Santa. You can send donations to PO Box 76, Stevensville, MI 49127 or drop them off at Michigan Lutheran High School the week of November 9th.
Most popular donated items include: Individual snacks, jerky, slim jims, small cans of fruit and soup in pop top cans, Drink mix for water, gum, hard candy, etc. Personal items to donate would include Toothbrushes, toothpaste, chap stick tissues (pocket packs) eye drops, foot and hand warmers...etc. An entertainment list would include: Decks of cards, Frisbees, puzzle books, magazines, etc.
 
If you know a soldier who is currently serving in the US Military, and they would benefit from a Christmas care package, please email the name and address to asievert@michiganlutheran.org.

Selective Service Registration
Federal law says that all 18-year-old men must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday.  Registration takes only a few minutes and can be accomplished by visiting www.sss.gov.  For additional information, call 1-847-688-6888.  Failure to register can lead to fines, prison, or withholding of college grants.

Our office has gone to an online transfer of documents called "Parchment".  Parchment is an online database that will transfer an official transcript to a college, or address requesting it.  You can request your transcript by going to our ML Website:  www.michiganlutheran.org and clicking on the box, "Request my transcript"  on the right side of the home page.  If you have any questions about this service, please contact Mrs. Sievert in the Office.

I help to get the grass mowed at MLHS.

Why do I volunteer?
I enjoy being outdoors and I am thankful to God that our children and grandchildren received their education at MLHS.

REDUCED PRICE FOR STUDENTS 
Student presale tickets will be sold to MLHS Students as well as 6th -8th grad
ers wanting to attend any of the away BCS Conferences Games at a reduced rate.  The $2 for presale tickets will go to ML, otherwise the students will pay $5 at the door.  The tickets will be available in the athletic office the day of the game.  The following list contains the schools in the BCS Conference:  Comstock, Brandywine, Bridgman Bronson, Cassopolis, Centerville, Countryside, Berrien Springs, Buchanan, Parchment, White Pigeon, New Buffalo, Mendon, River Valley, Lake Michigan Catholic, Howardsville and Grace Christian.

MLHS Online Spirit Store
The Titan online spirit store will be open again November 10 - 24.  This is a great time to order items for Christmas.
Classic items continue to be available at the ML Spirit Shop...stadium chairs, polos, sweatshirts, and fall jackets are always for sale.  Stop in and ask one of the secretaries to help you.  Go Titans!

AUCTION DONATIONS NEEDED
The MLHS Football Boosters need donations for their Football Fundraiser.  We are looking for donations to auction off at their Fall Football Titan Oriental Express.  You can donate an individual item, a few items for a basket or create your own theme basket to donate.  Any donations can be brought to the school office and left with Mrs. Sievert by Friday, November 13, 2015.  Please attach your name to the item so we know who to give credit for the donation and also put on that it is for the Football Auction.   We appreciate your support!



FINE ARTS EVERGREEN AND FRUIT SALE

The MLHS Fine Arts Department is once again holding its annual holiday fundraiser. Quality, fresh Florida oranges and grapefruit, as well as fragrant evergreen wreaths and centerpieces from Washington state are now available!You may order from any MLHS Fine Arts student, by calling the MLHS Music Department office directly at 260-429-7861 ext. 210  or by mailing in an order form to the Music Department.  Orders should be placed by Monday, October 28th,  and items will be delivered around Thanksgiving time.  Thank you for supporting your area Lutheran high school
