Parent Teacher Conferences
On Wednesday evening, September 30, ML will be holding parent/teacher conferences from 6:30-8:30 pm.  You will be able to pick up midterms that evening and speak with the teachers.  This year we will have our teachers set up in classrooms in order to give a little more privacy to any discussions.  You will have a total of 10 minutes per teacher in order to accommodate everyone.   Please plan on being here to discuss the progress of your student.

Friends of MLHS
Has the Lord blessed you with the opportunity to help a family this school year?  Recently, ML has been approached by three families who would like to make the switch to a Christ-centered high school, but they are unsure they can make it happen due to their current financial situation.  We are looking for families to help make a Lutheran education possible for these families, but our tuition assistance fund has been used up for the school year.  If you are able to help, please contact Bill Kruck at 269-556-9270 ext. 1310 to make being a Titan a reality!  Thank you for considering how you can help!

PURE MICHIGAN...

On October 7th, Michigan Lutheran will be hosting the Michigan District WELS Teachers Conference fellowship evening at the Titan Center.  Over 150 teachers will be here from around the district.  We are treating them to a "Taste of SW Michigan".  As our beautiful area is home to some of the greatest vineyards and wineries in the state as well as acres upon acres of fruit, we are asking for donations of fresh fruit as well as your favorite bottle of local SW Michigan wine.  We would love to have a great variety for our teachers to taste.  Please drop them in the school office by October 6th.  Thank you to all our great supporters!
OTHER NEEDS FOR TEACHER'S CONFERENCES...
We are in need of people to donate bags of Ghardettos from GFS, bottles of water and mini chocolate bars.  Any of these things can be brought into MLHS any time during school hours beginning the week of September 28th.  Thank you so much for supporting the Michigan District Teacher's Conference.

  Homecoming Dance
The Homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at Grace in St. Joe (Please use the lower level double doors.)  Help is still needed.   We are asking a few willing/able parents to provide some snacks;  cookies, chips, brownies etc.  They will be given pizza and soda. Please email asievert@michiganlutheran.org if you would be willing to bring something the night of the dance.

The dance will start after the MLHS vs. Burr Oak homecoming football game in River Valley and will end promptly at 11:30 pm. Students are to go directly from the football game to the dance.   The doors at the dance will be locked aproximately 40 minutes after the football game ends.  No one else will be permitted to come in unless special arrangements are made with Sandy Sempert beforehand.
Come and have a great time at the first dance of the year!

MLHS Volunteer Spotlight
Mary Rosenbaum
How do you volunteer at ML?
I help to coordinate the Wednesday taco lunch, secure the volunteer helpers and secure desserts for the Wednesday meals.

Why do I volunteer?
I love Lutheran Education and I am happy to support it in a way that serves the needs of our school.  We are able to provide a tasty nourishing meal for students and staff for a really good price. Hopefully our students anticipate this meal and leave their lunch break satisfied and happy to have a freshly made taco lunch.  There is a company whose motto fits mine: "Love people, cook them tasty food".  Mealtime, even at school, is a great way to show our love for Jesus by serving the students and staff He has blessed MLHS with, and the school that He has blessed our area with. By helping out with these meals I get to be a part of not just my kids' education on Wednesdays but that of the student body - and that's pretty neat.

We would like to thank Mrs. Rosenbaum and all our volunteers for graciously volunteering their time at MLHS.   It's a great time to be a Titan!  If you would like to volunteer by sharing your time and talents please talk to any of the staff at ML.

45th Anniversary of MLHS Celebratory Banquet
On Thursday, October 22, 2015 the 45th Anniversary of Michigan Lutheran High School will be observed at a special ML Foundation / Association Banquet beginning at 6:00 PM in the Michigan Lutheran High School Gymnasium. Our guest speaker for the evening will be Pastor Mark Jeske from St. Marcus Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI. Pastor Jeske also heads the "Time of Grace" ministry. He will speak on the importance of Christian Education at all levels. Please be our guest to enjoy a fine meal and learn more about the ministry at YOUR Lutheran High School. There is no charge for the evening; we only ask you to sign-up at your home congregation or call Amy Sievert at (269) 429-7861, Ext. 201 so we will know how many to anticipate. If you have questions please call William Kruck, Director of Development, at (269) 556-9270, Ext. 1310. We look forward to sharing this event with you.
