2015 Graduation Commencement

2015 Graduation Commencement exercises for the Class of 2015 will take place on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 3:00 PM.  As in the past, we will hold a worship service to thank God for the gifts he has bestowed on these young people and to ask His blessings on their future endeavors.  After the conclusion of the service, we will hold the graduation ceremony, which has always been a little less reverent with picture taking, occasional applause, and the like.  The valedictorian will speak, and the senior anthem completes the ceremony.  Feel free to call the school office with your questions.



 

VALEDICTORIAN / SALUTATORIAN 2015

 

Congratulations and God's blessings to our Valedictorian and Salutatorian from the graduation class of 2015.  They are outstanding students who have posted stellar cumulative achievement in the classroom, in athletics and fine arts, and through service to their congregations and communities.  We celebrate their exemplary use of God's gifts!

 

Valedictorian Miranda Tolsma is the daughter of Dr. Duane and Sue Tolsma from Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Stevensville.  She plans on attending Michigan State University to study advertising/business. 

 

Salutatorian Foster Zabel is the son of Mike and Dr. Nancy Zabel from St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor.  He  plans on attending Western Michigan University to major in chemical engineering.

Financial Aid for MLHS

 

The application and disbursement time frame for tuition assistance deadline is coming very soon.  

 

Applications can be requested from our financial office.  These need to be filled out and returned to MLHS by June 16.  We will get the amount of assistance to our families by July 1st.

SENIORS:
Selective Service Registration
Federal law says that all 18-year-old men must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday.  Registration takes only a few minutes and can be accomplished by visiting www.sss.gov.  For additional information, call 1-847-688-6888.  Failure to register can lead to fines, prison, or withholding of college grants.




Football Workouts
Football workouts are currently Mondays at 4:00 and Thursdays at 3:30.  This is subject to change.  These workouts are open to all 7th - 12th grade boys. Please email, call, or text Coach Zeiger with interest or questions.

The Titan Marching Band will be making its annual appearance in the Memorial Day Parade on the streets of downtown Saint Joseph Friday, May 23rd beginning at noon.  

 

 


ATTENTION: Science adventures ahead!
Over a stretch of seven weeks, Ferris State University offers week-long camp opportunities in Grand Rapids where students can explore three career paths locally: Digital Animation and Game Design, Digital Media Software Engineering, and Molecular Diagnostics. These week-long camps are a great opportunity for students to get their feet wet and determine if they'd be interested in a career developing applications for smartphones, creating their own video games, or separating DNA to help detect cancer or a genetic disorder. All of these career possibilities can be studied at Ferris State University-Grand Rapids on the campus of Grand Rapids Community College.

God has blessed us with two graduates that will be installed at Michigan Lutheran next fall as classroom instructors and student housing supervisors. Welcome Miss Wohlrabe and Mr. Lemke.

Emily Seidler (MLHS Class of 2010)  was named to the Deans List for the second semester at Wisconsin Lutheran College. 

 

Molly Plocher(MLHS Class of 2014) was named to the Deans list for the second semester at Wisonsin Lutheran College.


Joshua Ciboch (MLHS Class of 2011) graduated from Hope College in Holland, MI, with a BA degree in Business Management.

 

Justin Ciboch (MLHS Class of 2011) graduated from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI, with a BS degree in Product Design Engineering Technology.

Josh Nitz (MLHS Class of 2011) graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Grand Valley State University and has accepted a full time position with Plante and Moran in St. Joseph.
