INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM

International Guest Preacher Coming to MLHS

Please join Michigan Lutheran High School in welcoming a special guest to our school on Monday, April 20. Pastor Young Ha Kim from Seoul, South Korea, will be delivering the chapel message to the student body on that day. Pastor Kim; his wife, Margaret; and his daughter, Julie operate Canaan Lutheran Academy (CLA), a partner school in Seoul, which recommends students to apply to our school and other WELS and ELS Lutheran high schools in the United States. Students (and their parents) who attend Canaan Lutheran Academy receive extensive training in the English language coupled with religion classes in Lutheran doctrine and catechism instruction. Prior to a student's graduation from their English program, all students are examined and confirmed in their faith in accordance to the practices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. We currently have 4 students from CLA attending MLHS, and anticipate more in the future. Many thanks to the Kim's for entrusting their students to our care and nurturing of these students in their fledgling faith!

Senior Parents:
Please get your student's Senior Pictures submitted to dsperle@michiganlutheran.org so they will have a place in the yearbook.

ATTENTION SENIORS and PARENTS

This is just a reminder that there will be a $27.00 fee for graduation caps and gowns for which each of our seniors was measured.  They can be picked up from the ML Office beginning May 11.  Robes should be taken out of the wrap and hung on a hanger immediately so that they are not wrinkled for commencement services.

Divine Call

On Monday, February 23, Ms. Sperle accepted her call to serve as an instructor at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School in New Ulm, MN.

On Wednesday last week, the Board of Regents, led by the Spirit called Mrs. Terri Elder to be our next instructor.  She was called to teach PE, coach, and do guidance (eventually).  She would pick up other courses as to be determined.

Terri is 31 years old and currently teaches at St. Paul's Saginaw as 7th-8th grade teacher, athletic director, and coach.  She was a 5 year Step PE major at MLC.  She is married to Ben Elder and has two small daughters (2 and 4)

Thanksgiving Service, Meal, & Program
Michigan Lutheran High School will be celebrating the final year of service for Mrs. Ruth Gephart and Mr. Bill Kruck as instructors at Michigan Lutheran High School on Sunday, April 26 at Grace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. A service of thanksgiving to our Lord for their ministry will begin at 4 pm in the Grace Lutheran sanctuary followed by a potluck meal and program in the Fellowship Hall.  Pastor Mike Biedenbender, ML Alumnus, will give the message for the service themed, "Your God Reigns".  Gifts and cards of thanks can be brought to the program that day.  Anyone attending the meal is asked to bring a main dish and a fruit/veggie side or other side salad. ROBOTICS
Congratulations to the CW Tech Robotarians for a successful weekend at the Michigan State Championship event. After over 200 qualifying matches by the 102 teams there, the Robotarians finished the qualifying round ranked 22nd, the highest ranking of all the Southwest Michigan teams attending. This rank would have allowed our team to be an alliance captain during the elimination rounds. Instead, we joined the sixth seeded team to compete during the playoff rounds. Unfortunately, our alliance was eliminated during the quarter-final matches. However, our successes and awards earned during the regular season and this past weekend qualifies the team for the third straight year to compete at the FIRST World's Championship Event next week in St. Louis.

Although excited about the Worlds Event, the Robotics team now faces a new challenge:  Raising the $10,000 needed to go!!
There are three opportunities this weekend to support our team.
