INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM

On Maundy Thursday I was blessed to be able to join in the Lord's Supper with 4 ML international students (all ELS members).  As I knelt there, I was filled with emotions charged by the power of the Gospel:  the ability it has to change hearts, and to save lives everywhere.  Please join me in thanking our Savior for saving these students, for sending them our way, and for allowing us to join in fellowship with them. We are also grateful to the Lord for allowing Michigan Lutheran High School the opportunity to share the life-saving message of the Gospel with the world - saving some, and opening the eyes of others to the TRUTH and allowing the Holy Spirit do what He does best.

Continue to keep our international students in your prayers as our school year comes to a close.  Pray that the Gospel continues to touch their lives during the summer months, as some of these students will be separated from the daily contact, promises and reassurances found in God's Word.  But, most importantly, keep close the following promise from the One who loves us:  "...so is my word that goes out from my mouth:  It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11)

Our work at Michigan Lutheran High School is so much bigger than the "here and now" - the influence we have on lives today will last through eternity.

International Guest Preacher Coming to MLHS

Please join Michigan Lutheran High School in welcoming a special guest to our school on Monday, April 20. Pastor Young Ha Kim from Seoul, South Korea, will be delivering the chapel message to the student body on that day. Pastor Kim; his wife, Margaret; and his daughter, Julie operate Canaan Lutheran Academy (CLA), a partner school in Seoul, which recommends students to apply to our school and other WELS and ELS Lutheran high schools in the United States. Students (and their parents) who attend Canaan Lutheran Academy receive extensive training in the English language coupled with religion classes in Lutheran doctrine and catechism instruction. Prior to a student's graduation from their English program, all students are examined and confirmed in their faith in accordance to the practices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. We currently have 4 students from CLA attending MLHS, and anticipate more in the future. Many thanks to the Kim's for entrusting their students to our care and nurturing of these students in their fledgling faith!
