Divine Call
On Monday, February 23, Ms. Sperle received a divine call to serve as an instructor at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School in New Ulm, MN.  What this means is that Ms. Sperle now holds two calls to serve, one here at MLHS and the other at MVLHS.  Over the next couple weeks, Ms. Sperle will appreciate your prayers and your thoughts as she deliberates where she can best use her gifts to serve God's people.  Ms. Sperle currently teaches Senior Comp, World Novel, Journalism, English 10, and Drama.  She oversees our drama production and is moving into our guidance department.  MVLHS has asked her to teach AP English, American Literature, Language Arts, oversee their speech team, and possibly serve in Guidance and in Student Council.

2015 WELS NATIONAL BAND FESTIVAL

Over the weekend of March 13-15, student musicians from all our synod's high schools will join forces to present this year's WELS Band Festival at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin.  Live Streaming information will be available on the MLHS website for those who would like to watch the final concert on Sunday, March 15, at 3:00 PM.  The clinician for the festival is Dr. Patricia Backhaus.

This year's event is a national festival, bringing together 112 students from 20-some WELS high schools.  Michigan Lutheran will be sending four students to the festival this year: Nathan Brown (tuba), Courtney Burnett (Euphonium), Quinna Koch (clarinet), and Jacob Roth (trumpet).

SACRED SPRING CONCERT  "What Wondrous Love!"

On Sunday, March 22, the band and choirs of the Michigan Lutheran Music Department will present their annual Sacred Spring Concert.  The performance will begin at 7:00 PM.

This year's concert theme is "What Wondrous Love!" and the program will include both reflections of the great love God has showed for us in His Son, Jesus Christ, as well as songs of praise because of that love.

The program will also feature a new arrangement by MLHS Music Director Ryan Stangl for both the band and choirs to perform together.  The piece is a setting of the praise hymn "Earth ad All Stars."  We hope you will join us for this special concert event!

SPAGHETTI SUPPER:   5:00 - 6:30, Sunday, March 22

Please contact Nila Rainey if you are willing to help.

Alabama Mission Trip
The student body of ML is invited to participate in a Mission Trip over Spring Break to Madison, Alabama.  We will be traveling to Madison, Alabama to Lamb of God Lutheran Church.  Our goal is to help this congregation in their evangelism effort in their community to help promote their Easter services.  The dates of the trip will be March 28-April 1.  More details are forthcoming.  We may need to limit participants based on interest and how many students the congregation can host.  There will be a cost for the students to go, around $100/person.   Any parents interested in chaperoning the trip can contact Mr. Herbst.

!HAIL TO THE VICTOR!!!

Mrs. Plocher and some of our international junior level students are headed to Ann Arbor for a campus visit to the University of Michigan! This will be their first exposure to a large university campus. They'll learn what is involved in the college application and admissions process. They'll see first hand what a college town looks like. As a U of M grad, Mrs. Plocher will also introduce them to her former campus pastor, Bob Hoepner, of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the University of Michigan WELS Campus Ministry program as a means to encourage them in their faith on a public college campus. If anyone would like to accompany Mrs. Plocher and the kids on this visit, she is looking for one chaperone. Please contact her if you are willing and able: internationals@michiganlutheran.org

Please keep these students in your prayers as they grow in their knowledge of their Savior. And also pray that they are met with people and opportunities in the upcoming college years to learn more about the true Victor!
