MISSION STATEMENT

Michigan Lutheran High School provides a Christ-centered secondary education to prepare young adults for lives of Christian service in their churches, workplaces, communities, the world, and for life with their Lord in eternity.

SEMESTER 1 EXAM SCHEDULE

- Semester exams begin on Wednesday, December 17 and continue to Friday, December 19.

- While every effort is made to schedule so that no conflicts occur, it  may not be possible to avoid them all. If your student has two exams scheduled for the same hour, it is her/his responsibility to talk to the teachers involved to set up an alternative testing time for one of the conflicting exams.

- Students who have first hour exams are expected to remain for chapel and those who start their day with second hour exams should arrive on time for chapel, which precedes second hour.

Homes needed!

Brothers and sisters in Christ your help is urgently needed. We are looking for homes for two of our international students. This is your opportunity to share the Gospel message with students who are either new to the faith or are still questioning our faith. Due to the length of time needed to house these students, you will receive a hosting stipend that amounts to $100 per week. Some students will need housing for two weeks, some for shorter periods of time. If you are willing to open your hearts and homes, or if you have questions, please contact Heidi Plocher, International Advisor: 1.269.556.9270, extension 1313.

High School Youth Group Next Event
All high school students, join us on December 14th from 6:00-8:00 pm at
the Titan Center for an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party.  What to bring?
First of all, yourself.  Second, a friend.  Third, an ugly sweater if
you have one.  Door prizes will be given out to those with the ugliest
sweaters.  Our Bible study will continue with being prepared to share
our faith and we'll take a look at one of the topics you suggested last
time. Following that, we'll have snacks and Christmas goodies to eat,
and we'll play some Christmas games too.  Let Pastor Ehlke know if you
plan to come or sign-up on the facebook page.
or
Text or call Pastor Ehlke at 269-759-9335.

  PROJECT CHRISTMAS

With God's blessings we are again planning "Project Christmas." In this effort, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of Benton Harbor, in cooperation with fellow WELS in the area (and some from farther away), and with assistance from a Thrivent grant, provides packages of food, clothing, and wrapped gifts for children to 90 needy Benton Harbor area families. We have scheduled the special distribution day for Saturday, December 13. A meal for all invited families and volunteers is also planned. We try to follow-up with the good news of Jesus to any unchurched families.

We would greatly appreciate any help your church members, Christian day school or sunday school children could give.

We ask that gifts for the needy families be brought to St. Matthew's during the week of December 8 - 12(before Friday if possible).

Praying for God's blessings,

St. Matthew's Lutheran Church 269-925-7292

Please call the above with any questions about Project Christmas 2014. To arrange a time to drop off food or other donated items before the week of December 8-12, please call our church office at the number listed above.

Attention Senior Parents:
It is almost time for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  This is a form that everyone should complete as it helps with financing college. If you do not qualify for federal aid, states and colleges use this information to determine financial aid for scholarships, grants, loans, etc.   You must file in Michigan between January 1, 2015 and March 1, 2015.  You must begin the process be procuring a PIN.  You get this by going to https://pin.ed.gov/ before January 1.  The sooner you file, the better financial aid package you will receive.  You do NOT have to be finished with your Income Tax to complete this form.   There will be a spot to estimate based on your previous year's return.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact Ms. Sperle at 269-429-7861 ext. 214 or email at [email protected].
