MISSION STATEMENT

Michigan Lutheran High School provides a Christ-centered secondary education to prepare young adults for lives of Christian service in their churches, workplaces, communities, the world, and for life with their Lord in eternity.

The MLHS Faculty and Staff would like to wish everyone a Blessed and Safe Thanksgiving Holiday
Both the school and financial offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 for the holiday.  Regular classes begin again on Monday, December 1, at 8 AM.  We pray that you and your family have a safe and happy break, and that you use this opportunity to thank our Lord for His many gifts of grace.

ATTENTION SENIORS Caps, Gowns, and Announcements:

The Herff Jones Company will be at school to take cap, gown and graduation announcement orders on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 during lunch.  If you are ordering announcements from them, a deposit will be required at the time of the order.  Please make all checks and money orders payable to Herff Jones.  The forms regarding measurements for caps and gowns are due this day; however, ordering announcements is optional.  The caps and gowns will be distributed in May, the week before graduation, which everyone will be required to purchase. There will be a fee for the cap and gown collected by ML upon pickup.

Junior Class Chili Supper
The Chili Supper is Sunday, December 7, prior to the Christmas Concert.  The supper takes place from 5:00 to 6:30 PM in the MPR.  Free-will offerings will be accepted toward the supper.  Christmas cookies and candy will be sold by the pound.

Christmas Families

Our international students enjoyed sharing Thanksgiving with a few local families. Some traveled, others stayed close to home. ML is looking for a few families to share Christmas and New Year's with our international students. All you need is a bit of extra room, patience and understanding, and a sense of humor. Contact Heidi Plocher, International Advisor, for more information on how you can participate in this unique ministry: 556-9270, ext. 1313.

TITAN TIP-OFF TOURNAMENT
MLHS is hosting its annual boys' basketball Tip-off Tournament on Friday, December 12, and Saturday, December 13.  To prepare  for the tournament, students will be dismissed at 2:00 PM on Friday.  Participating in the tournament will be Grace Christian, Howardsville Christian, MLHS and Huron Valley High School.  COME SUPPORT YOUR TITANS and ENJOY SOME BASKETBALL!

  PROJECT CHRISTMAS

With God's blessings we are again planning "Project Christmas."*  In this effort, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of Benton Harbor, in cooperation with fellow WELS in the area (and some from farther away), and with assistance from a Thrivent grant, provides packages of food, clothing, and wrapped gifts for children to 90 needy Benton Harbor area families. We have scheduled the special Distribution Day for Saturday, December 13. A meal for all invited families and volunteers is also planned. We try to follow-up with the good news of Jesus to any unchurched families.

We would greatly appreciate any help your church members, Christian Day School or Sunday School children could give.

We ask that gifts for the needy families be brought to St. Matthew's during the week of December 8 - 12(before Friday if possible).

Praying for God's blessings,

St. Matthew's Lutheran Church 269-925-7292

Please call the above with any questions about Project Christmas 2014. To arrange a time to drop off food or other donated items before the week of December 8-12, please call our church office at the number listed above.

High School Youth Group Next Event
All High School Students, join us on December 14th from 6:00-8:00 pm at
