MISSION STATEMENT

Michigan Lutheran High School provides a Christ-centered secondary education to prepare young adults for lives of Christian service in their churches, workplaces, communities, the world, and for life with their Lord in eternity.

SCHOOL BEGINS

SCHOOL BEGINS MONDAY, AUGUST 18th for FRESHMAN - REPORT AT 8 AM

SOPOMORES, JUNIORS, and SENIORS BEGIN TUESDAY, AUGUST 19th AT 8 AM. All students need to be here (even if there is an off-campus schedule for seniors).

BERRIEN COUNTY YOUTH FAIR

Michigan Lutheran High School has been sharing a booth with Grace Lutheran at the Berrien County Youth Fair in Berrien Springs, MI during this past week Monday-Saturday. We've had many volunteers to help cover the booth during these 96 hours! We have given away many cups, pencils, bags, and bracelets displaying MICHIGAN LUTHERN HIGH SCHOOL, or GRACE LUTHERAN SCHOOL.

ATTENTION: All Parents of new students:

TITAN SPIRIT SHOP OPENS FOR YOU!

The Titan spirit shop will be open next Monday, August 18th at 6:45 - 9:00. Take care of your Parent Orientation and purchase your Titan Clothing on the same night.

This will be a special sale for families of "New MLHS Students".

PARENT ORIENTATION

Parents of incoming freshmen and new students: Please plan to attend our parent orientation on Aug. 18th at 7 PM.

Come and meet the MLHS teachers and learn what the days at ML will be like for your student.

The ML Lunches need you! Can you help from 10:30-1:30 on Wednesdays or Fridays? We will work with your schedule!

Picture Day

Picture Day will be Tuesday, September 9 during the regular school day.Look for Forms to come home the week of Sept. 2. You will be able to place your order online, or send the form back to school with your student.

One thing that did not make the list is a USB headset for anyone taking Rosetta Stone. There is a sale at Best Buy on Logitech headsets for $19/set.

Summer Mailing!

The 2014/15 school year is fast approaching! August 18th will be here in no time. Our Titan student body should have received an envelope in the mail from ML. This packet contains the forms necessary to keep our student files up to date. Please go over these papers, fill them out, sign them if necessary, and have the students do the same. Class schedules will be included and if changes need to be made, these should go through our Registrar, Mr. Pappenfuss (ext. 206).

Please return all completed forms to Mrs. Sievert.

SENIORS:

Selective Service Registration

Federal law says that all 18-year-old men must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Registration takes only a few minutes and can be accomplished by visiting www.sss.gov. For additional information, call 1-847-688-6888. Failure to register can lead to fines, prison, or withholding of college grants.

TRANSCRIPT REQUEST?

Our office has gone to an online transfer of documents called "Parchment". Parchment is an online database that will transfer an official transcript to a college, or address requesting it. You can request your transcript by going to our ML Website: www.michiganlutheran.org and clicking on the box, "Request my transcript" on the right side of the home page. If you have any questions about this service, please contact Mrs. Sievert in the Office.

PAPER DRIVE FOR MLHS

MLHS would like to thank its faithful supporters for generously taking the time and effort to haul their used paper to the ML Paper Truck. This operation has been in service at ML for nearly 25 years and has provided a steady source of income for the MLHS Student Council. To God be the glory!

The MLHS Student Council is a student run service group that provides manpower and non-budgetary items for the school.

ML is looking for adult volunteers to drive to houses and pick up the papers that elderly people have been saving for us. A pickup truck or bigger vehicle would be a benefit but not a necessity. We would greatly appreciate your help. Talk to Andy Pappenfuss if you are interested.

Let's keep the MLHS Paper Truck running for 25 more years. There is a truck available for drop-off daily. The student council will offer its assistance with your papers from 8am - Noon on the dates listed below:

Color Run Team Participants Wanted

The Color Run is a 5 K walk/run that will be touring in South Bend, IN on September 27, 2014. " The Color Run was founded in March of 2011 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the 'Happiest 5k on the Planet'."

Ms. Sperle is getting a team together from ML! If you are interested please register at thecolorrun.com/s-bend. You will need to sign up with your personal information, and then click on team runner, and join the existing team named "Michigan Lutheran Color Runners." The cost will be $40 per participant through August 15th. After the 15th the price goes up to $45.
