MISSION STATEMENT

Michigan Lutheran High School provides a Christ-centered secondary education to prepare young adults for lives of Christian service in their churches, workplaces, communities, the world, and for life with their Lord in eternity.

 ~Upcoming ML Sundays~

Sunday, March 9 ~ Peace ~ Granger, IN ~ 9 AM

The ML Family will join in expressing our appreciation to God for providing congregations and schools that lovingly support Christian secondary education at MLHS.   The Festival Singers edify these special services in song; Rev. Schneider leads the service.   Let us come and worship God who makes it all possible!

SPEEDBALL TOURNAMENT

On Saturday, March 15th MLHS Student Council is having a speedball tournament. Students from all area high schools are welcome to enter teams of 5, with at least 2 girls. Rules and registration forms are available in the MLHS office and must be returned with the $10 entry fee by Wednesday, March 12th.

2014 - 2015 Freshman Testing and Registration

Students who will be entering the 9th grade in the fall of the 2014 - 2015 school year will be given the opportunity to take the Explore test at MLHS on Saturday, March 22, from 9am until noon. This test, which is prepared by the same organization that produces the ACT, helps parents and advisors learn about each student's level of preparation in English, math, reading, and science. While the students are writing their tests, parents may register their children for the 2014 - 2015 year. A $50 registration deposit is to be paid at the time of registration. This deposit is refundable if the application is withdrawn by June 15th. If a student is planning to attend MLHS but cannot make the registration date, parents should call the high school at 269-429-7861 to make other arrangements.

Parent Meeting

Attention all parents of freshmen, sophomore, and junior students:

MLHS administration will be holding an important informational meeting regarding scheduling and course changes for the 2014-2015 school year.  The meeting will be held in the MPR on Thursday, March 20 at 6:30 pm.  The topics will include:

  • Adding AP Courses at ML
  • Dropping Electives
  • Foreign Language Offerings
  • Registering for 2014-2015 school year
  • Changing from a 9 period day to an 8 period day

Please plan on being here for this important meeting.

 HOMES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Our international advisor is looking to gauge the level of interest among our ML families to host international students.  In order to do this, a brief survey will be sent to the families of current freshmen and sophomores.  Please bear in mind that hosting a student does not necessarily require a year-long commitment on your part. In many instances, we will be looking for short-term housing providers to accommodate either a current host family who can't take their international student with them on an extended trip or to give those international students who live in our dorms a chance to experience the life and culture of an American family. Please take the time to answer the survey and return it by March 21st. If you don't receive a survey but would like one, please contact our International Advisor, Heidi Plocher: 269-429-7861, ext. 211.

A Project to be completed with your help...

The much needed doors and exterior windows for our building are now installed.  We were blessed to finish the project before the big polar vortex of January!  Please visit the school and we will be happy to show you the results.  However, as of this writing we are still seeking donations.   What a great opportunity to assist the ministry of MLHS!  Individuals, churches, and organizations can help us finish this effort. Contact Bill Kruck at 269-429-7861 extension 203 or Bette Otte at 269-429-7861 extension 212 if you can help.
