MISSION STATEMENT

Michigan Lutheran High School provides a Christ-centered secondary education to prepare young adults for lives of Christian service in their churches, workplaces, communities, the world, and for life with their Lord in eternity.

Taste of Ministry/ Teaching

ML offers a program called Taste of Ministry/Taste of Teaching for Juniors and Seniors interested in the pastoral or teaching ministry.  Students will be matched with a local pastor or Lutheran elementary school teacher to spend a day learning what it's like to be on the other side of the desk.  If you are an ML Junior or Senior who is considering the public ministry and would like to participate in the program, please contact Mr. Herbst as soon as possible.

Annual Corn Maize Youth Group Event at Barbott Farm

This years' Corn Maize Event is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th. Students can be dropped off and Sign-In at 6:15. The evening will include Pizza and Corn Maize, followed up with Hot Chocolate around a Bon Fire! Please plan on picking up students by 9:30 (as there's a group of 300 people coming in at 9:00 - hopefully the parking lot will have cleared a little by then). As you may have heard in Pastors announcement last week, St. Paul, Grace and MLHS have decided to join Youth Groups in hope that our youth and attendance will continue to grow through fellowship and Gods Word. Because we want to kick this school year and our union off with a bang, there will be NO CHARGE to enter the corn maize. Pop, snacks & hot chocolate are also included. The ONLY charge to the students will be the normal $1.00 charge per slice of pizza. Students/Members grade 6-12 from Grace, St. Paul and Michigan Lutheran High School are all invited. Please plan to attend and make this a fun and successful year!

Chromebook

Use Contract

Parents and students, we have been blessed with added technology this year and finally have all the kinks worked out for utilizing Google Chromebooks and Google Apps for Education throughout our school.  We are very excited about this, but also realize that we will need to both train the students on the use of this technology as well as protect these important devices from damage.  So, please return the contract that has come home so that your child can use these devices during the school day.  Without the permission slip, we regret that we will not be able to allow them to use these for their educational benefit.

Thanks!

一路平安

Safe Journey

Mr. Herbst is on the plane to China!  Prayers that his visit is enjoyable, prayers that he gains new knowledge to share with the ML faculty, staff, and students; prayers that his recruitment trip is successful in encouraging young Chinese students to come to our school so that they may learn of the saving message of the Cross and share it with their fellow countrymen.

May the Lord richly bless this recruitment trip and use the outcome to bring Him glory, honor, and praise.

 BLESSINGS

To date our fortieth anniversary drive has garnered about $200,000. We have been able to fund a number of programs including new windows, tuition assistance and improvements to our school.

We are currently raising funds for two important items. Gifts given toward these projects would be gratefully received. The projects are: a completion of the windows and exterior doors replacement, and the addition of "Chromebooks" to enhance classroom instruction. Both are extremely important to the present and future of ML.

We have $7,000 toward the Chromebooks and need an additional $25,000 to provide each student with the use of the device. The exterior doors are being ordered and will be installed, God willing by the New Year. The remaining windows on the north side of the building will complete the replacements. Total cost for windows and doors is 32,000.

Please consider your blessings and help as you can. You are encouraged to contact Mr. Kruck at 269-429-7861 ext. 203 for further information. If you have questions about the Chromebooks' role in education contact Principal Matt Herbst at 269-429-7861 ext. 204.
