TEST GEAR
ACT Prep, online ACT, WorkKeys, and Michigan Merit Exam preparation course is a part of the freshman technology curriculum at MLHS. The course is called TestGEAR. Because ML pays an annual fee, ALL students are eligible for a Test GEAR account. The course is comprehensive and can take up to 60 hours to complete. It is interactive and personalizes itself to your specific needs as you use it. You can also visit www.act.org for released exams, sample essays, and sample questions. Students can log on at school or at home. It's not too early to begin preparation for the MME. This test gear generates an ACT score that will be used for college admissions. International Students at MLHS:
MLHS has been blessed to enroll 4 international students for the 2013-14 school year. We have two girls from South Korea; Donghee Lee, and June Lee. We also have two boys from South Korea; Louie Lim and AJ Yang.
Please reach out to these students with your help, and kind hearts. Let your light shine! God extends his love to all cultures and all people. Praise God for the chance to learn more about these individuals and their cultures and also to teach them about ours.

一路平安
Safe Journey
Our International Program continues to move forward. While the students at ML are acclimating themselves to new daily schedules, our future students overseas are already planning for their schooling next year. To make the most of that level of pre-planning, Mr. Herbst is set to leave for a recruitment trip to China in the upcoming weeks. He'll be spending two weeks in China learning about the Chinese educational system; meeting with principals, teachers, students, and parents; as well as attending 3 recruitment fairs - all in a concerted effort to begin our next school year with a substantial number of new international students! Please add Mr. Herbst to your prayer list over the course of the next few weeks as he prepares for what will undoubtedly prove to be a trip that will be both mentally challenging and spiritually gratifying - with the final goal being that young teens will be led to the saving message of Christ-crucified.

BLESSINGS
To date our fortieth anniversary drive has garnered about $200,000. We have been able to fund a number of programs including new windows, tuition assistance and improvements to our school.
We are currently raising funds for two important items. Gifts given toward these projects would be gratefully received. The projects are: a completion of the windows and exterior doors replacement, and the addition of "Chromebooks" to enhance classroom instruction. Both are extremely important to the present and future of ML.
We have $7,000 toward the Chromebooks and need an additional $25,000 to provide each student with the use of the device. The exterior doors are being ordered and will be installed, God willing by the New Year. The remaining windows on the north side of the building will complete the replacements. Total cost for windows and doors is 32,000.
Please consider your blessings and help as you can. You are encouraged to contact Mr. Kruck at 269-429-7861 ext. 203 for further information. If you have questions about the Chromebooks' role in education contact Principal Matt Herbst at 269-429-7861 ext. 204.
