MISSION STATEMENT

Michigan Lutheran High School provides a Christ-centered, confessionally Lutheran secondary education to prepare young adults for lives of Christian service in their churches, workplaces, communities, the world, and for life with their Lord in eternity.

~PROUD TO BE A TITAN~

 2012-13 School Sportsmanship Awards

Michigan Lutheran MS/HS was honored with both the Walt Lange Sportsmanship Award and the Denny Kniola Sportsmanship Award again for 2012-13. Michigan Lutheran is consistently at or near the top each year in the voting for these awards and are actually repeating from last year for both. Congratulations to all the student-athletes, coaches and supporters from ML whose consistent display of sportsmanship earned them this award.

Tennessee Mission Trip was a Success!

We thank the Lord for returning all of our TN Mission Trip participants safely home. Many memories were made and many are signed up for Rock of Ages Lutheran Church's Soccer Bible camp this summer. Our students distributed 6,000 doorknob hangers.

They have already had 12 kids register for soccer camp in June.

We are talking about next year's Mission Trip. Any Ideas?

Robotics

Congratulations to the members of the CW Tech Team. This past weekend at the Bedford High School competition the Robotarians were part of the seconded seeded alliance of three robots. They made it to the finals where they lost in very close matches to the # 1 seeded alliance that included the #1 and # 2 ranked teams in the State. The team was also awarded the Engineering Excellence award by competition judges.  This finished a qualifying events season having made it to the finals in all three events attended. The CW Tech Team is ranked in our highest position in team history at 8th among over 200 state teams and will be competing at the Michigan State Competition this weekend at Ypsilanti. The students should be very proud of all their accomplishments this year.

ALUMNI NEWS

Our very own Willy Kruck is a current honors student at Ferris State and a graduate of ML class of 2012.   He was recently accepted to Disney College intern program.  He will represent the Disney organization at Disneyland in Florida.  Willy will work in Orlando beginning in August and ending in January 2014.   Many people in the nation apply but only a few are accepted.  This is a tribute to ML and it's fine program for our Christian young people.

Jennifer Jackemeyer (ML Class of 2012) won 3rd place for academic writing in the Walter Cunningham writing competition recently. She won a monetary prize along with having her name inscribed on a plaque in the Language and Humanities Hall. In addition, her essay will be published online at http://www.inscriptionsjournal.org/writing/walter-cunningham-writing-contest/2013-walter-cunningham-writing-contest/

 PATRIOTISM SHOWN BY ML STUDENTS

I would like to extend a thank you to seniors Rachel Mischke, Brandon Lucius, Justin Lietz, and Aubrey Boldt for taking time out of their senior class trip to Washington D.C. to assist the St. Joe Valley Blue Star Mothers IN #6 with delivering donations to Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.  They took the Metro and met us at the facility.  They helped to unload 3,000 pounds of donations.  After everything was brought inside, these students went out and talked to the wounded and ill military members.  They helped to pass out 300 goodie bags to our military men and women.  These students have helped with other projects in the past, but this experience gave them the opportunity to actually see how we help our heroes.

These student showed not only true patriotism, but were also good examples of Christian men and women.

Rachel, Brandon, and Aubrey will be assisting by leading the singing of the National Anthem at an event on April 20th.

2013 Martin Luther College Wind Symphony Tour

The Martin Luther College Wind Symphony will be performing at MLHS on Monday, May 20 at 7:30

Please join us in listening to these talented musicians who will be our future pastors and teachers!
