MISSION STATEMENT

Michigan Lutheran High School provides a Christ-centered, confessionally Lutheran secondary education to prepare young adults for lives of Christian service in their churches, workplaces, communities, the world, and for life with their Lord in eternity.

 WINTERFEST 2013:  A Huge Success

We want to thank everyone who came and made Winterfest 2013 a huge success. Special thanks goes to all who donated time, items, made purchases, or gave monetary donations to the Alumni Association's annual silent auction. All proceeds from that event benefit families directly in the form of tuition assistance.

May the Lord continue to richly bless all our alumni, current students, families, and staff as they proudly carry the name Titans their whole lives!

~Upcoming ML Sundays~

Sunday, March 3 ML Sunday @ St. Paul's - South Haven 9:00

INFORMATIONAL OPEN HOUSE
Invite a friend to learn about Christian education

On Sunday, February 24, from 1:00 to 3:00pm , parents of prospective Titan students are invited and encouraged to attend an informational open house. Please take this opportunity to learn about ML, its curriculum, extra curricular activities, and your financial investment in Christian Education. Included is information about the Michigan Merit Curriculum that will affect your child. You will also hear how MLHS will meet and exceed these standards. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite friends and neighbors who would like to learn more about ML. Our students and families are the best "advertisement"for Christ-centered education.

Help is needed from you:  A Gourmet Pasta Luncheon

will be served at in the gymnasium of St. Matthew's Lutheran in Benton Harbor on Sunday,

March 3, 2013 from 1 - 3 PM.  This is a fundraiser to benefit the Family of Jennifer Sicurello; Ron & Diane Clark, and Josh Sicurello (members of St. Matthew's Lutheran)

WHY?

Last year Jennifer was diagnosed with kidney desease and she is in need of a kidney transplant.  Her step-father, Ron Clark, is a perfect match.  He is donating one of his kidneys.  Recovery time for donor and recipient will be two to three months, during which time they will not be able to work, and Diane will be off from work so she can look after the two of them.  The proceeds from the fund raiser will be used to help with the family's expenses following transplant surgery.

(suggested donation: $10.00 per plate)

Please join us, or you may send donations to:

2013 - 2014 Freshman Testing and Registration

Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 9am - Noon
Students who will be entering the 9th grade in the fall of the 2013 - 2014 school year will be given the opportunity to take the Explore test at MLHS on Saturday, March 16, from 9am until noon. This test, which is prepared by the same organization that produces the ACT, helps parents and advisors learn about their student's level of preparation in English, math, reading, and science. While the students are writing their tests, parents may register their children for the 2013 - 2014 year. A $50 registration deposit is to be paid at the time of registration. This deposit is refundable if the application is withdrawn by June 15th. If a student is planning to attend MLHS but cannot make the registration date, parents should call the high school at 269-429-7861 to make other arrangements.

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED

Michigan Lutheran High School has been blessed the last few years to be a part of International programs that place foreign students in our care. MLHS has recently received approval to accept students who are here on an F1 visa to study full-time in the United States. Because of this amazing opportunity, MLHS will be hosting a number of international students next year. In order to do so, ML families must generously open their homes to these very special visitors. Several options will be available to host families in the coming school year. If you would like to open your home, or if you would like to learn more about this exciting experience, please contact either Mrs. Sievert in the front ML Office, or Mrs. Plocher, International Advisor.  Our international students add much to our campus family. Please consider becoming a part of this unique opportunity.

Please bring magazines to the MLHS Office.   The Art Department is in need of them for Projects.   Thanks!
