Greetings!

Welcome to the latest issue of News & Notes. Fall flew by, and yesterday's snow flurries were a vivid reminder that the holidays are almost here.

One of my favorite parts of the holidays is welcoming collectors from far and near to our annual Holiday Pottery Fest. It's always great to see familiar faces and share a hug, but I also love meeting newcomers and introducing them to this wonderful event. It's small-town Midwestern hospitality meets crazy-awesome pottery show. The mood is festive and everyone goes home with great new pieces and often new friendships, as well.

Next year, the Holiday Pottery Fest will move to Cambria, and we'll marry our Midwestern sense of hospitality with laid-back California coastal living. We're planning to alternate the location of the Holiday Fest between Lake Mills and Cambria in future years. So, if you're in the Midwest, please come this year. If you're in California, hang on, we'll be there next year!

As Thanksgiving approaches, we pause and take time to count our blessings. We would like to thank you for your continued support of our work. Our customers make it possible to do what we love every day, and we are grateful for each and every one of you.

With best wishes from everyone at Ephraim for a very Happy Thanksgiving,
Kristin

Grand Opening a great success

Many visited Ephraim Pottery West on October 27

The official Grand Opening for Ephraim Pottery West, our new gallery in Cambria, California, took

place on October 27. We were thrilled to have so many people from near and far share in the celebration.

The day began with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting attended by members of the Cambria Chamber of Commerce and a large group of collectors. We then welcomed attendees into the gallery to browse and shop for experimental pieces and the special "Sea Otter" showpiece. Customers received a commemorative Ephraim Pottery "Cambria" tile with their $100 purchase.

Customers and guests were treated to pottery-throwing demonstrations by potter Kevin Hicks, Ephraim's founder and the visionary behind the idea to open our own gallery in California. The weather, of course, was perfect, and they were able to mingle outside while enjoying the demos and some refreshments.

Guests at the evening reception were treated to a variety of fine Wisconsin cheeses, wine from the local Harmony Valley Cellars, and live music. Kevin spoke about the history

and philosophy of Ephraim Pottery. We were fortunate to be able to have 3 of the other artists represented in our gallery with us to talk about their work as well: lampmaker William Morris, "Textile Guy" Paul Freeman of Archive Edition, and plein-air landscape painter Gordon Luce.

We'd like to thank everyone who helped to make this such a special day for us. We hope to see many of you back at Ephraim Pottery West again soon!
