If you need - or someone you know is needing - spiritual tending, a way to ease the heaviness of an unwelcome burden, please contact us. Whether the need is acute or ongoing, as parishioners trained in various types of pastoral ministry we offer solace and support that reflects God's presence and healing power in our lives.

Are we underestimating the possibilities?
At our recent Rummage Sale, I was perusing the Used Books, when suddenly one caught my eye. It was the author not the title that grabbed me, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, French philosopher and Jesuit priest of the 20th century. I am always profoundly touched, moved, inspired, and challenged by his writing.
So I picked it up and said, "That's the one for me." Upon looking inside the cover, I discovered it was from the library of our dear friend, Paul Whiter - now a treasured find, indeed. It was meant to be! The book, The Future of Man, speaks to our progress and the ever evolving journey of humankind. Early on, he notes that, "neither we nor our adversaries have sufficiently measured the powers of growth with which Christ has endowed [the] church." (p.22) I wrote in the margin, "Are we underestimating the possibilities?"
I wonder how often we don't reach what we dream of or long for because we "underestimate" the possibilities. We underestimate our abilities. We underestimate our resources. We underestimate the opportunities. We underestimate the support and love of friends, family, and even strangers. We underestimate God. We don't fully understand the "powers of growth with which Christ has endowed [the] church," that being the Body of Christ, the people of God...US!
As we continue to "progress" - to live and grow into our future, I encourage us to open ourselves fully to the "powers of growth" that Christ has given freely to us. Let us not fall into the hypnotic trance of mediocrity, failing to live fully into the future that God has in store for us - if we are willing to truly open ourselves to the "powers growth" in God through Christ.
GROW in peace to love and serve the Lord.
Thanks be to God!

Make your reservations for One Table Café on November 15!
We have a guest speaker of great renown in Sam Daley-Harris. He founded RESULTS, an international citizens' lobby dedicated to creating the political will to end poverty. In 1995 Daley-Harris founded the Microcredit Summit Campaign which surpassed its initial goal of reaching 100 million of the world's poorest families with microloans in 2007. Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus said: "....no other organization has been as critical a partner in seeing to it that microcredit is used as a tool to eradicate poverty and empower women than RESULTS and the Microcredit Summit Campaign."
Daley-Harris is author of Reclaiming Our Democracy: Healing the Break Between People and Government, about which Jimmy Carter said, "[Daley-Harris] provides a road map for global involvement in planning a better future." The 20th anniversary edition will be released in September 2013.
We will also have a tasty meal prepared by the new Terra Learning Kitchen at the YMCA in Princeton.
Please join us. Call 609-924-2277 ex. 352 for reservations.

Introducing Trinity 2.0!
The purpose of Trinity 2.0 is to identify and create ways to increase engagement with the Trinity community by using technology and social media. A small group is working to simplify, improve and facilitate real-time communications. These communications range from printed bulletins to Trinity's website, the e-Pistle, and social media. A picture is often worth a thousand words. Words are critical in communicating our faith. With Trinity 2.0, we want to connect people to each other
We look forward to making some gradual improvements in the coming year. Should you have recommendations or would like to lend your talents to our Trinity 2.0 communications team (especially, web developers/programmers, writers, photographers, etc), please contact me at patrickbeers@verizon.net.

Episcopal Relief and Development
Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) is the international relief and development agency of the Episcopal Church of the United States. As an independent 501(c)(3) organization, ERD takes its mandate from Jesus' words in Matthew 25:40, "Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of these who are members of my family, you did it to me."
Its programs work towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals. Together with the worldwide Church and ecumenical partners, ERD helps to rebuild after disasters and to empower people to identify and work towards lasting solutions that fight poverty, hunger and disease.
From now until December 6, ERD has a challenge grant in place. Donations to its programs or to the Gifts for Life catalog will be matched dollar for dollar up to $500,000. For Thanksgiving or Christmas this year, please consider a gift in honor of a loved one from the Gifts for Life catalog or consider a gift to continue to help with disaster recovery from events such as Hurricane Sandy.
Donations can be made on the Episcopal Relief website (please identify yourself as a member of Trinity, Princeton) or by check. Please contact Ann Zultner if you have any questions.
