United Way - Kiwanis Outstanding Volunteer Awards 

Do you know an outstanding youth or adult volunteer? If so, nominate them for a United Way - Kiwanis Outstanding Volunteer Award! The nomination deadline is tomorrow, March 6th, at 5:00 p.m.

United Way honors volunteers and volunteer groups in Whitfield and Murray counties whose service has exemplified a commitment to bring hope, promise, and opportunity to the lives of others. The minimum hour requirements over a 12 month period are:  

  • Individual nominees - youth ages 14 and under must have volunteered at least 50 hours or more.  
  • Individual nominees - ages 15 and above must have volunteered at least 100 hours or more.   
  • Group nominees - the total must be 250 hours with each recognized member contributing at least 50 hours towards the total. 

These awards will be presented at the United Way - Kiwanis Volunteer Awards Banquet at Rock Bridge Stage 123 on Monday, April 28 at 6:00 p.m. All nominees will be recognized at this meeting. Awards will be given in the following categories: Youth Volunteer of the Year, Youth Volunteer Group of the Year, Connie Woodard Award (Whitfield County adult), Elaine Butler Award (Murray County adult), Corporate Volunteer Group of the Year, and Adult Community Volunteer Group of the Year.
