A Springer Celebration! 2013 was a record-setting evening, raising $138,500 with an attendance of more than 470. The audience listened to actor, producer, director and author Henry Winkler as he shared stories of his struggles with dyslexia as a youth.

Henry greeted event sponsors and their guests at a VIP reception, and personalized autographed books. It was his second appearance at A Springer Celebration! Henry spoke at the event in 2004, where he was awarded the Spirit of Springer Award for his advocacy for children with learning disabilities.

Guests at the event were greeted with a red carpet, and an opportunity to have a "celebrity photo" taken in front of the event logo. A "Springer Walk of Fame" highlighted the achievements of Springer alumni, each with his own"Hollywood star."

Local 12 WKRC TV Sports Director Brad Johansen was on hand once again as emcee and auctioneer for the evening's program, themed "Reach for the Stars: An Evening with Henry Winkler." Proceeds from the event will provide critical financial aid and outreach programs for the children and families affected by learning disabilities in our region.
