pajama day
These Primary girls are celebrating their Springer Spirit on Pajama Day!
Greetings!

In February we set aside a day to let our students know how special they are, and how much we appreciate them.

Parents will have an opportunity to come visit Springer in March, and hear from current students about what makes Springer different. The center will also offer a program that helps parents to plan for the transition from high school to further educational opportunities.

And Springer students have won awards in art and writing.

Mick and his family are invited to attend a reception and awards ceremony on March 16 in Columbus.

Making the Transition from High School
For a student with a learning disability, the transition from high school to the next educational setting can be challenging.

The center's two-hour workshop for parents offers help and advice on topics such as finding the right college, negotiating the admissions process and securing the necessary disability supports.

Presenter Dr. Mary Ann Mulcahey will also counsel parents in helping their child grow in independence, and review options to the traditional four-year college. Springer graduates Devon Rich and Matthew Selker will be on hand to share their experiences in college and offer their advice for the transition.

That's what Upper School teacher Phil Jensen said about his writing classes this week. Many students in Mr. Jensen's classes submitted entries to several writing contests this year, and a number of them were chosen for publication in anthologies produced by Creative Communication.

For their entries in poetry, the following students were selected: Malakai Greenberg, Eric Mavrolas, Andrew Rudy and Johnny Schaller. In the essay contest, Alex Betz, Max Fales, Kathleen Finn, Malakai Greenberg and Andrew Rudy were the winners.
