 Expectations & Overdoing It
This time of year often makes us think of getting our lives and bodies "in shape." That can mean hastily getting our house ready for summer guests or getting our bodies in some kind of bathing suit or summer clothes shape. Expectations that are too high, however, can set us up for disappointment. In moments of being overzealous, we can work or exercise too hard, and then hurt ourselves. Consider striving for moderation and balance in your summer preparations. Being more realistic -- what does that look like for you? How OK is it for you to move more slowly towards your summer goals? Can you live with less "perfection"? Please Contact Me to Discuss |

Mindfulness Exercise
Imagine your house not being totally clean when friends arrive for a weekend visit. Or, recall feeling a little pudgy while wearing that special bathing suit. What feelings do these scenarios bring up for you? Inadequacy, rejection, inferiority, exposed, unloved?
Sitting with those feelings for a while can be uncomfortable, but revealing and helpful.
Accepting yourself is a very self-loving act!
Simply witnessing your sensations, emotions and thoughts around your body (or your house) can transform discomfort and unease to a sense of peace.
Slowing down and accepting what is for the moment is very helpful.
I wish you a great summer breeze.
