Hi dear friends!

Welcome to the August 2013 quarterly newsletter.

Just a reminder before we get on topic: I'll be taking a rare and extended vacation in September and my availability will be very limited. If you need product for that month, please make sure you get your orders in prior to August 29th to ensure you'll have an uninterrupted supply of Drucker Labs products.

Onto the topic: Retracing. From our conversations over the years, this is something that many of you have and are experiencing. Having had all my silver amalgams out recently, I know what it's like to go through a retracing process and believe me, it's not a lot of fun. However, knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel along with the knowledge of retracing's purpose can be very helpful.
Often, the terms healing crisis, healing reactions, herxheimer and retracing are used interchangeably. There are some differences though. Most of you that have been on deep healing detox regimens are familiar with the temporary symptoms that occur as toxins are eliminated. Retracing includes this, but also involves an aspect that many I've spoken with have experienced. Retracing is a real phenomenon of the body's retracing, reawakening or reliving old infections, wounds, injuries, diseases (symptoms); even emotional traumas as they are being eliminated. They are often an essential feature of all true and deep healing methods.

Symptoms may include: bowel changes, aches, pains, muscle cramps, discharges, rashes, headaches, irritability, fatigue, anxiety, fogginess, nausea, digestive disturbances, liver discomfort, kidney pain, blood pressure changes, hot flashes, shortness of breath, numbness, diminished body temperature, dizziness, colds, sore throat, and sinus drainage. It is almost impossible to predict all the possible symptoms.

As a person's energy level improves along with their adrenal activity, even medications stored in the body can be released. Bacteria that has been hiding or encapsulated for years may be released creating symptoms from long ago diseases such as mumps, shingles or chicken pox! Industrial chemicals that were inhaled or that one was exposed to many years ago may be eliminated along with detox symptoms.

Since there's no way to tell which and how many toxic substances are lingering, one should be prepared for anything. Most reactions are mild and pass quickly. However, sometimes they can be pretty rough and last for months or even years in extreme cases.

The body can only eliminate small amounts of toxins at a time; therefore it's a slow process. These require considerable nutritional support since the reactions usually cannot and should not be suppressed. The good news is that all disease can be self-limiting and in almost all cases, the body will not begin a healing reaction unless it can see it through to completion, as long as...one is doing everything correctly.

Yet, how does someone know if they are going through a retracing or a worsening of health? You can use the following questions and answers as a guide.

1.      Were you following a nutritional program that included an excellent diet, rest and supplementation? If yes, the reaction is likely due to healing. If not, then the lack of a total health commitment is probably worsening the condition. Remember, the body needs to be taken care of properly to heal.

2.      Were you feeling better before the retracing occurred? Since retracing often requires energy, it occurs with regularity when one is actually feeling better. It can be quite frustrating to have a day or several where you're feeling better, then crash again.

3.      Have the symptoms occurred in the past? If so, the body is most likely retracing - again if following a proper healing regimen.

4.      Are the symptoms...strange? Even though the body retraces older symptoms, they don't always follow the same pattern as before.

5.      Have you experience some weird emotional changes? Since toxins certainly affect the brain, and as they are mobilized and eliminated, emotional states may swing wildly.

A major mistake that many unfortunately do is to begin adding medications to help deal with these reactions - this only adds more toxins to the body and prolongs the healing process.

What can you do to "soften" the retracing?

1.      Rest. Too many of us are going all day long without any breaks or quiet time. It is very  important to reduce stress and strain, both physically and mentally; to conserve energy for healing. Also, breathe deeply and slowly - this is very calming for the nervous system.

2.      Eat small meals. You may notice that you feel better often after eating a small meal. This is because energy is temporarily diverted from healing to digestion. However, when one eats too much, it tends to overload the body and many often feel worse afterwards. Weight loss may occur even in a thin person as damaged tissue is broken down so don't be too alarmed.

3.      Drink small amounts of water throughout the day and never with a meal (this interferes with digestion). It's best to drink a good quantity of water about an hour or so before breakfast, then smaller amounts between meals.

4.      Limit supplementation. Taking too many supplement taken randomly from different companies, methods of processing, sources, strengths and purity can actually confuse and conflict the body interfering with its natural healing abilities. It may make things worse. Try to limit your supplementation to the purest and only organic supplements and then just a few.

5.     If you have access to an infrared sauna, use it in small increments (10-15 minutes at a time) a few times a day. Sweating is an excellent way to release toxins from the more superficial tissues.

Massage, chiropractic, acupuncture and hot baths are also excellent therapies to use.

The diet needs to be excellent, not just good. Avoid extreme diets, but eat what is natural, organic and healthy.

When these steps are followed, any retracing that may occur can be eased and its duration shortened as you're heading toward health!

Thank you once again for reading and I look forward to serving you!

Until next month, I remain yours in good health!

Sincerely,

Dr. Mike
