September, 2015
Hi All,
When we think back to the surveys we sent out late last year, asking for your ideas on how you'd like to celebrate the World Caf's 20th Anniversary, we're thrilled to see so many of them being enacted. We wanted to gather together locally to meet each other and dream into the future - and we're doing it! Impact Cafs are now scheduled throughout October all over the world. We wanted a way to celebrate globally - all of us at once - and we'll have the chance to do that in the online Global Harvest Cafs coming up in November - save the dates and register early. We wanted to stand together with our friends and colleagues in the Art of Hosting and other participatory practices to celebrate our collective impact, and that's exactly what we're doing!

Thank you for making it all happen with your ideas and your many contributions to this special 20th Anniversary Impact Jamboree, which is in full flow right now: We have a fabulous new Impact Jamboree graphic, capturing the story in one picture like only graphic recording can do, created by Susan Kelly (see it featured on the front page of the World Caf website) ...o0o...
Announcements of new Impact Cafs are still coming in (check out the current Impact Caf Listings & here's the form to submit yours). Two of them are being held at the world-renowned Bioneers conference in northern California, and they're making a special conference admissions offer for us (see below). ...o0o...
Hold the Dates for Global Online Impact Cafs (there will be two, so all the time zones in the world are represented - we'd love you to join us for both!): November 17th & November 18. Local Times & More Info. ...o0o...
Stories of World Caf impact are coming in from all corners of the globe and being featured in the community StoryNet and Impact Map. These are truly wonderful stories, but we won't know about yours unless you share it! ...o0o...
20th Anniversary messages and well wishes are coming in from all over (including an especially stirring shout-out from Otto Scharmer - see it below). Inspired by our friends at a recent conference in Mumbai, we're hosting a special "Message Wall" for these greetings and we'd love to hear from you, too! See the invitation below. ...o0o... The World Caf Community blog is jumping right now with articles, testimonials, video interviews, etc. - subscribe now so you don't miss any of this inspiring content ... watch for a special message from our beloved elder Anne Dosher, Guardian of the Soul of the World Caf & now in her 90s, on October 1st.

World Cafe Research

We are delighted to report that thanks to Niels Agger-Gupta, Associate Professor at Royal Roads University, we have received a list of 80 Masters theses and doctoral dissertations featuring the use of World Caf as a research method. This will be available on the website soon. Our intent is to create a fully annotated bibliography of research and inquiry about World Caf.
In the meantime, we've expanded the research pages on the World Caf website to show you where we want to go, and invite you to send us any academic or professional journal articles, white papers, grey papers, etc. that you are aware of - whether they be about World Caf, using World Caf as a method, or evaluating World Caf. We appreciate your help in growing this collection of research material that will be a valuable resource for all of us.

Otto Scharmer and his colleagues are hosting the U.Lab 2.0 MOOC right now, with more than 40,000 people participating all over the world (including many of us!).
U.Lab uses Twitter for communication during live sessions. After receiving our thanks for being included in the U.Lab guide, Otto responded:
What a great affirmation of what we are all doing together. Thank you for being such an inspiration, Otto!
Special thanks to Michaela Sieh for caring for these communications, and all the beautiful messages she's been sending out on social media in support of the 20th Anniversary celebrations.

As we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of World Caf together, we invite you to add your well wishes to co-created global "Message Wall".
These messages could be birthday wishes, a note of gratitude for something that World Caf has brought to your life, blessings, personal learnings, seeds for the future of our global movement, your favorite World Caf image, a poem, a song, a quote... whatever your unique expression might be.
We have already received several of these messages (we're calling them "love letters" :-). Here's one:
To make it as easy as possible, please just email us your message & we'll put them up on a dedicated space in the World Caf website.
You can also tweet your message: @TWCcommunity. Please use the hashtag: #theworldcafe (your tweet-wishes will also be published on the website).
Thank you!
