Temporary Workaround for Printing Claims on the New CMS-1500 (02-12) Claim Form Prior to V10 Upgrade
One thing we know for sure: spring is right around the corner! One more thing we know for sure - many of our clients will not be upgraded to Version 10 prior to 4/1/2014, which is when some payers are requiring mandatory use of the new CMS-1500 (02-12) paper claim form. That means you'll need to be able to print claims to the new form while still using eClinicalWorks V9.

To help you along until you upgrade to V10, we're offering a temporary workaround. We have created a utility that will replace the current CMS-1500 (05-08) form templates with the new CMS-1500 (02-12) form templates on any computer where eClinicalWorks V9 is installed.

We strongly recommend that the utility be deployed on a computer not regularly used for billing today. Once applied, the selected computer will print only the new form. You shouldn't make the change on your billing computers because after upgrading to V10, you'll want your billers to have both the old and new forms available for use. At that time, you can discontinue printing new forms from a separate computer.
In V9, some manual manipulation of populated data will be required before printing. Manipulation instructions for billers are available here:
