About the Holy Rosary Scholarship Program
Holy Rosary Academy was founded in 1867 by the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catharine, KY. In July 1997, Holy Rosary merged with Spalding University and was operated as a sister school of Presentation Academy. The school closed in 2002, after more than 135 years of Catholic education in Louisville.
The Holy Rosary Academy tradition is carried on today in the form of the Holy Rosary Scholarship Program. The Holy Rosary Scholarship is presented annually to descendants of Rosary graduates who matriculate at DeSales and Holy Cross. The scholarship is funded by an endowment set up through the proceeds of the annual Kentucky Derby Festival Ramble for the Roses and the Ramble Trivia Night.
