Housecleaner Dies in Violent Dog Attack
The county medical examiner has confirmed that a woman found in the backyard of a Fallbrook home was mauled to death by one or more of the eight dogs found roaming near her body. The still-unidentified 30-year-old woman was hired to clean the home in the 1300-block of Calle Tecolotlan, according to new information released by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
A relative who came to pick her up at around 5:15 p.m. Sunday found her dead in the backyard and called police.
When authorities responded, they found eight large dogs running loose in the backyard where the woman's body was found. The residents were not home, and the garden hose was still running when they arrived, said Lt. Glenn Giannantonio with the Sheriff's Homicide Unit.
The San Diego County Department of Animal Services took the dogs into custody and said they were a larger breed of dog called Olde English Bulldogge. Authorities did not have to use any force with the dogs.
Giannantonio said the woman had spent the previous evening at the house, but this was her first time cleaning the house, and she was not very familiar to the dogs.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office determined that the victim was mauled by one or more of the dogs.
The Department of Animal Services told NBC 7 the owners were breeding and selling the dogs. The youngest of the pack is about 4 to 5 months old. The largest dog is 105 pounds.
The Department of Animal Services has yet to determine whether the homeowner will face charges in the case.

Missouri Town Seizes Pet Pitbulls December 2012
KC Blog Sikeston MO begins pit bull roundup
Several years ago, Sikeston, MO passed a law that automatically made 'pit bull type' dogs automatically declared dangerous. In order for people to keep their dogs, owners had to license their dogs (which included taking multiple pictures of the dogs from various angles), keep them leashed and muzzled, and post 'beware of dog signs in their yards. However, apparently that wasn't enough for the authorities in Sikeston -- and yesterday, they began rounding up 'pit bulls' out of people's homes to take to the shelter. Most will likely be killed there. It doesn't matter that these dogs were family pets. It doesn't matter that owners did everything to comply with the law. It doesn't seem to matter that the dogs had no history of aggression or complaints about them. It only seems to matter that they look like pit bulls, and the city authorities want them dead. All of them. This isn't happening in a 3rd world country. Or some science fiction novel. It's happening in the United States. In 2012. And this isn't the only place it's happened. Several years ago, a similar incident happened in Denver, when authorities began going around and rounding up 'pit bull' type dogs, leading to a massive pile of dead pit bulls in the city (note, the picture at the link may be disturbing). And this is even different than the killing of homeless animals in our shelters (which is its own travesty), this is the purposeful rounding up and killing of people's family pets that HAVE loving homes. Breed of the Month: American Bulldog
History The American Bulldog's origins are in the deep south, where it was used as a farm dog. Its specialty is catching feral hogs, which can weigh several hundred pounds and wield savage tusks. When cornered, these razorbacks are nasty fighters, requiring a dog of great strength and athleticism to fight them, battling the hog into submission and holding it down until the hunter arrives. For this reason, they have a very high pain threshold. The American Bulldog can weigh from 70-120lbs., though many have been known to grow even larger. Banned in Denmark, Singapore and various municipalities. American bulldogs stocky, well built, strong-looking dog with powerful jaws, a large head, and a muscular build. Its coat is short and generally smooth. This breed has a high prey drive.

I must say that I was skeptical in the beginning as I have worked in the field of Animal Control going on 20yrs and have had many experiences with aggressive dogs. What I realize now is that I have been extremely lucky that I haven't been seriously injured or killed. It's truly frightening the amount of the people who currently own these mollosser/guard dog breeds and have no idea what type of dog they have or training it should receive. I especially liked the in depth back ground explanation of the dog drives, how a dog thinks and how to defend yourself if attackedI would highly recommend your training for any Animal Control or Field Officers or any businesses the routinely go to people homes. Thank You!!! Debbie Redd - Field Supervisor Maui Humane Society ________________________________________________ I have been back to work and reading my routes. It is amazing how much and how well what I learned at BulliRay works in the field. Unreal!!!! It has made my days so much easier and more importantly safer. I'm more confident and able to understand at a much deeper level what the dogs are telling me and what I'm telling them. I now have a plan and the skills to execute that plan for every yard that I enter. Thank you so much, Adam Jameson Westar Energy _______________________________________________
The Train the Trainer course conducted by the Bulli Ray staff was professional, informative and performed in an environment conducive to learning. The instructor materials that I was given during the training will enable me to take this information back to my workplace and create a dog safety training program that all of our employees will benefit from.
