I just inherited a beautiful wood bedroom set from a relative. I LOVE it! I love the relative who gave it to me and feel it's an honor to have it. It's as though I'm a guardian of this vintage set and know eventually one of my children will appreciate it as much as I do. However, do I need to do anything to "clear" it? It's not like I want to erase her wonderful energy but something tells me I should be doing some kind of ceremony.

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,

How wonderful to have such a positive addition to your bedroom! It is my wish that it will fulfill your dreams and keep you safe while you sleep.

I would compare clearing the bedroom set to what you do when you bring home fresh fruit. That apple may look clean and delectable at the store but you probably will still wash it off when you get it home. I would do a clearing, asking that the blessings you perceive are part of the set remain so you can benefit as well and that anything negative that you may not even know about be released.

There are several ways to clear a bedroom set like this. One way is to refinish it or paint it. Doing this puts your own special "mark" or claim on the furniture. If you didn't want to do that, you could ceremoniously wipe it down with a special cloth or towel, wiping away any potential challenges. You could also sage the furniture or use incense.

Once that bedroom set has become "yours" in this energetic way, it can support you in ways that are specific to you. Here's to many years of enjoyment with this special furniture.

The Chinese calendar, called the Tong Shu, reflects astrological cycles which can indicate on a daily basis whether there is a tendency toward good fortune or the
need for retreat or protection. If you're trying to make a decision about moving forward with a project or making a decision, you would want to do this on an extremely auspicious day or at least one indicated as a good day.
