We rent our house and the landlord doesn't fix a thing.  We've asked him to fix the front door, replace a broken stove, and address a leaking toilet but he does nothing.  What are our options since having broken items challenges the Feng Shui of our space?  The rent is otherwise affordable and the location is great.  We are currently talking to an attorney.  I have just recently gotten divorced and have chosen to stay in the house in which my ex-wife and I lived during our marriage. Any suggestions on how to make the house mine?

Hi Derek,

You are intuitive about needing to change the energy of the house from that of a married couple to a home that is yours alone. Evidence of that marriage needs to be eradicated from those walls.

The first action I suggest you take is to get a new bedroom set----at least a new bed. Since this is a place of intimacy and dreams, you want to make sure all evidence of old dreams is gone and you create a space where new dreams can be made. If even getting a new bed is not possible, then get a new mattress, sheets and pillows. You want to be sleeping on something that's neutral.
I would also re-arrange the living room furniture so the look and feel of the space is different for you. Even a new coat of paint would shift the energy. Make sure all items from the past relationship are out of the space---none of her things should be in the attic or the basement.

Finally, I would do some kind of blessing or clearing with incense, a candle or a bell to re-set the energy and the intention of the place you call home.

The Chinese calendar, called the Tong Shu, reflects astrological cycles which can indicate on a daily basis whether there is a tendency toward good fortune or the
need for retreat or protection. If you're trying to make a decision about moving forward with a project or making a decision, you would want to do this on an extremely auspicious day or at least one indicated as a good day.

Whenever you're feeling ungrounded or unstable, wear a brown color that is flattering for your hair
color and complexion. It will help to make the connection you're needing to move forward.
