2. I read somewhere that an electric stove is not "Feng Shui approved."  Is that right?

  -Jen

Hi Jen,

Yes, you are correct.  The reason for that is that your food is not being cooked by fire which is how food was always cooked----over an open fire or a fireplace.  It cooks the food in a different way energetically than electrical heat.  Whenever you have a choice, opt for a gas stove top rather than an electric one.

This leads me to bring up the issue of microwave ovens.  The whole principle of heating food with a microwave is opposite of how food has been cooked from the beginning of time because the microwave process cooks the food from the inside out; cooking food over a fire heats the food from the outside in.  Our systems are used to the outside-in pattern and find it more difficult to integrate microwaved food.  Avoid using the microwave whenever possible not only for this reason but for the intense EMFs given off during the heating process.

The Chinese calendar, called the Tong Shu, reflects astrological cycles which can indicate on a daily basis whether there is a tendency toward good fortune or the
need for retreat or protection. If you're trying to make a decision about moving forward with a project or making a decision, you would want to do this on an extremely auspicious day or at least one indicated as a good day.
