A Personal Note from Susan
 
Hello  
           
We've all heard that saying right?  When something goes haywire in our lives, someone inevitably comes up with this reassuring saying; one door closes, so another door may open
 
Well, I'm here to tell you, that it is absolutely true!
 
As a business owner, one of my hardest early lessons was something called attrition, or otherwise stated, a client discontinues doing business with you.  Early on it was one of the most painful experiences of being a business owner.  I recall thinking, naively, that if I provided excellent service, fair pricing, and exceeded my clients expectations that they would never leave.  Then, I discovered that client's needs, budgets, ownership and decision makers change; and sometimes that meant they would no longer be my client.
 
So you would think that after fourteen years of being in business that I would somehow get used to this phenomenon.  Nope!
 
Earlier this year, a door closed with one of my favorite clients, and I was surprised...no, I was shocked and quite devastated. There was nothing I could have done to salvage the account, it was an internal business decision and that was that.  I'm sharing this with you because sooner or later this WILL happen to you and I want you to remember that it is a normal part of being a business owner
 
The good news...and the exciting part of my message to you today, is I want you to meet my open door, her name is Pat Mussieux!  I was referred to Pat by a mutual colleague and I am now her Accountability Coach, where I have the privilege of laser coaching her clients on a monthly basis. I recently met Pat in person in London, Ontario.  I am pleased to say that Pat is an incredible business coach, with passion for both her business and her clients' businesses; not to mention she is a really fun lady!

How would our lives be different if we viewed each relationship as our perfect teacher?
  
I am so excited to be sharing with you the concepts presented in Quantum Leaps - 7 Skills for Workplace ReCreation by Charlotte Shelton.  

Over the last several months, I have shared with you The Seven Quantum Skills that will enable you to see the world in a new wayThis month we explore the final Quantum Skill of Quantum Being: The ability to be in relationship!
 
Quantum Being is the ability to be in relationship - a relationship based on unconditional positive regard. As we learn this skill, we increase our ability to unconditionally accept all people with whom we interact.  Or, in more spiritual language, we learn to express love. This skill enables us to create harmony within a world of differences.  The differences do not disappear, but we begin to see them from a new perspective.  In so doing, we move from discomfort with those who are different from us to a deep appreciation of our differences.
 
Our relationships provoke our unresolved issues and reopen our deepest psychological wounds, thus giving us the opportunity to learn and heal, or to deny and project.  How would our lives be different if we viewed each relationship as our perfect teacher?
 
Can you imagine a workplace and a world where every relationship is seen as an opportunity to choose to be forgiving?
 
I'm not suggesting that this is easy; however, if it resonates with you on some level, then I encourage you to sit for a while and think about the closest relationship you have right now.  What are the lessons that these amazing teachers are attempting to share with you?
 
This of course works both ways; you too are the teacher in the relationships that you have stepped in to. How does knowing this change how you interact with these individuals?  My hope, no my prayer, is that it will be to come from a place of acceptance, of unconditional love, and of non-judgment.
 
I've enjoyed sharing with you over the past several months the Seven Quantum Skills for Workplace ReCreation!  I guess that makes me the teacher in this scenario.  Thank you for allowing me this opportunity, I hope that you found these new skills interesting and will consider adding them to your skill set.
