A Personal Note from Susan

Hopefully you caught my play on words...I for one, am just plain tired of reading and typing

Happy New Year!

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of welcoming in the New Year, and feeling all the

excitement of how the next twelve months will reveal itself, what it will teach me, and how I will be challenged to become a New Me!

Instead of spending any energy on a list of resolutions, I intend to focus on what worked!  In keeping with the tradition I began last January, I'd like to share with you some of what I'll be continuing in 2015:

  • My Wall Calendar - I went to Staples, purchased the calendar, had each month laminated, hung them up, used color coded markers to track all my travel plans, client programs, volunteer commitments, vacations, as well as my important family events!
  • My Professional Goals - Using an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, I begin with the statement, "I am so happy, proud and grateful that...." And I list 5-10 goals that I intend to achieve during the year.  I then post it visually in my office and read it daily, cross off as they are accomplished and allow myself moments throughout the year to feel proud of my successes, and envision each and every one of them coming true before year's end.
  • A Course In Miracles - This will be my third year as a student of ACIM.  I will continue my commitment to read daily the Lessons provided, as they allowed me to make conscious choices throughout the year with much peace, calm and clarity.  Thank you to Marianne Williamson and her book, A Return To Love, for the introduction to this work and for her continued inspiration in my life.
  • Remaining Active - For me this involves a combination of running, Pilates, free weights and an ab workout, no less than 3x weekly.  As you know, I turned 50 last May and intend to remain healthy, happy and ready to tackle the next 50!
  • January and September Alcohol Sabbaticals - I'm not exactly sure how long I've been practicing this, or why I call it a sabbatical, but it has been since I was in my 20's.  Anyone who knows me personally knows that I do not drink any alcohol during those months.  In part, it is about cleansing, weight control, but mostly it is about knowing that alcoholism runs in my family, and I made a promise to myself, when I was very young that I would respect this fact, and incorporate a regular checks 'n balances to be sure that this was not a disease that I ever turn my back on.

Here's to our BEST Year Ever!

What is your company's ESSENCE?

Over the past several months, I have shared with you my 7 Simple Keys to Creating Memorable Marketing.  We have now come to the end, and I will share with you Key #7: Create Your Brand.  Each of the previous six keys culminate in creating what is referred to in the marketing industry as a company's brand.

For those of you who may have missed a previous issue of my Co- Creator's Corner, here is a recap of the previous six keys. Key #1: Know your Target, and where your campaign will run, as covered in Key #2: Use Multiple Media; and how to create a memorable message, in Key #3: Ricocheting ideas; and the importance of frequency as in Key #4 Reach Them Often, and the significance of quality production in Key #5: Don't Cut Corners, and last month you learned about the importance of Key #6: Be Consistent.

A brand is simply this:  a product or service that is differentiated from the competition by establishing its "essence" - its claim to distinction in the mind of the target audience.  If you follow the seven keys to creating memorable marketing, you will be well on your way to laying a solid foundation for future marketing campaigns, increased revenue, and peace of mind.

I encourage you to sit with this thought, what is your company's essence, and journal what comes to mind. And then, perhaps validate your thoughts by asking your current clients to describe your essence. You may find it to be an informative and revealing process.

Join me, as I present on the topic of "Trusting the Wisdom of Your Heart"

Here's a little quantum physics for you.  Did you know that the strongest electromagnetic signal in the human body is generated by the heart?  The strength of the heart's signal, which is 40 - 60 times stronger than that of the brain, suggests that the heart may be the human body's master oscillator, broadcasting electrical information throughout the body.  How cool is that?

During our time together I will share with you a bit about my personal and professional journey, and not all of it was pretty, at times it was downright painful.   We have each experienced challenging times in our lives, this in part, is what keeps us connected, as human beings.

The negative emotions that result from these challenges cause us to lose energy, become less creative and struggle in all areas of our lives.  The key isn't in avoiding or eliminating the challenges, it is in "Trusting the Wisdom in Your Heart" to inspire and guide your life.

Expect to leave this evening's event with a renewed commitment to listening to your inner guidance, your intuition, your heart...and having the resources to make conscious choices in what your next inspired action steps will be to achieve the goals that you have set for 2015 and beyond.

If time allows, I'll close the presentation with a brief demonstration of a little technique I learned a few years ago called EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) a/k/a Tapping.  It has assisted me, many of my clients and hundreds of other business professionals in releasing limiting beliefs and allowing their true light to shine.  What do you have to lose?

A Thought to Ponder

If you know yourself, there is no enemy"
