Kroyer Racing Engines brings the heat to the Baja and Nevada desert.

Kroyer Racing Engines are no strangers to the desert and tough terrain that is brutal to off-road race vehicles. With over 13 years racing in the dirt, they are still proving that they are doing it right and there is no stopping those Kroyer powered vehicles.

The year's two biggest desert races took place this summer. The SCORE Baja 500 and BITD Vegas to Reno. Two different desert terrains but both courses are known to take advantage of the weak. Kroyer drivers didn't let this stop them from bringing home more wins for KRE.

The 2014 SCORE Baja 500 took place in June and the course layout for this years race was the topic of conversation for the teams that would be taking on the grueling Baja desert for this years race. KRE would head south as well to help their teams with any last minute changes that would need to be made for the race started.

Qualifying was held outside of Ensenada where Trophy Trucks and Class One Cars each attempted at being the first one to take the green flag on race day in their class. KRE drivers, Bryce Menzies and Jason Voss didn't miss a beat as they qualified on the 4.3 mile course and when final qualifying times were released, the drivers would be starting 2nd and 3rd off the line. Along with Menzies and Voss, Luke McMillin would also be starting the race 6th off the line and BJ Baldwin right behind him in 7th. With four drivers starting the race in the top ten it would give KRE the prime opportunity to take home another win and more podiums.

Come race day all the drivers were on their A-game and battles were brought to the table. The race took 8 hours and 50 minutes for the first Trophy Truck to complete and it would be Bryce Menzies and Pete Mortensen who came across the finish line first, leaving the everyone in dust behind them for a majority of the day. Menzies and Voss would trade lead positions numerous times but it was Jesse Jones who came from a 16th start to take over the lead for a portion of the race as well. Jones pushed his KRE powered truck in attempts to beat out Menzies and Voss, but with a minor issue, Jones would not be able to complete the win. Along with Taking the Trophy Truck win, KRE would also claim the Class 1 win with Cody Parkhouse. With a hard fought fight for the win, Parkhouse finished his race in 9 hours and 51 minutes.

Kroyer Racing Engines swept the BAJA 500 Trophy Truck podium and had five drivers finish in the top six.

1st - Bryce Menzies 8:51:50

2nd - Jason Voss 8:55:17

3rd - Jesse Jones 8:57:21

4th - BJ Baldwin 9:04:58

6th - Luke McMillin 9:19:58

Best In The Desert puts on Vegas To Reno, the "Longest Off-Road Race In The United States." The 534-mile course consisted of fast graded roads, washed out terrain, sharp rocks and none other than the famous Nevada silt that engulfs the valley. Over 50 Unlimited entries made for a packed day of qualifying just 2 days before race day.

2013 Vegas to Reno winner, Jason Voss had a smooth qualifying run and it was no surprise when he was announced as the pole setter for Fridays race. Starting the race with fresh air is always beneficial, but this race is notorious for the winner coming from the back of the pack and surprising everyone. Bryce Menzies claimed his first ever roll in the #70 Trick Truck during qualifying and this error would have him starting at the back on race day.

Race day started at sunrise on Friday morning when motorcycles, quads and UTV's made their way off the start line and left lines of dust across the Nevada desert. Trick Trucks staged for the race and Jason Voss left the start line at 9:30am where he left everyone chasing his dust.

The Kroyer powered Trick Truck of Jesse Jones was in the hunt as he started 3rd off the line and was pushing just as hard as Voss. Behind Jones was also Steve Strobel who was attempting to close in on the 5 minute lead that Voss had put on 2nd place by race mile 300. None other than the #70 truck of Bryce Menzies had creped up to 5th place on corrected time by race mile 300 and had no intention of backing down. His intentions were clear but luck was not on the teams side. Minor mechanical issues would pull the Menzies team out of contention.

Voss never looked back when he left the start and succeeded at leaving everyone in his dust all the way to the finish. Crossing the finish line in just 8 hours and 29 minutes. This win would be Voss' third BITD win this year and his starting to solidify another Trick Truck Championship.

Kroyer Racing Engines Trick Truck finished 3 out of the top 5 for this years race.

1st - Jason Voss 8:29:28

4th - Steve Strobel 8:56:00

5th - Jesse Jones 8:58:24

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series is running down the final stretch of the season and with LOORRS Championships on the line, all the drivers are pushing harder now than they have been all year. This coming weekend will see rounds 11&12 in Sparks, NV and all teams will be on the hunt for podium finishes. The summer rounds have been strong for KRE as drivers have landed on the box numerous times.

After 2 ½ years supplying engines to Team Renezeder (with 40 podiums out of 76 points races) the Renezeder Team has decided to move on from Kroyer Racing Engines as a supplier and we wish the Best of Luck to Carl and the Team.

KRE would welcome Rob MacCachren and his team. The Pro-2 and Pro-4 driver was quick to land on the top of the podium in Tooele for round 8 in his Pro-2. Since the switch, MacCachren has piloted his trucks on the podium 3 other times since the change in engines.

RJ Anderson is still in his rookie year in his Polaris RZR backed Pro-2 but he is already no stranger to the podium in it. Anderson landed on the podium in round 7 with a 3rd place finish. As a force to be reckoned with, Anderson has finished in the top 5 multiple times this year and it won't be long before we see him competing for a championship in the upcoming years. Anderson took his Pro-Lite to the top and has won rounds 5 and 9 as well as a second place in round 10.

Menzies Motorsports drivers have had their share of wins and podiums throughout the season. Bryce Menzies has steered his truck to the podium 3 times since round 5. A hard fought race in Glen Helen for Round 10 is where Menzies would find himself back on top with a win. Ricky Johnson in the #48 Red Bull Pro-4 along with all other Pro-4 drivers have been chasing down Kyle LeDuc all season trying to get him off the top of the box. It has been close racing but Johnson ended up with a 2nd in round 8 and 3rd place in round 10.
