If you need some work hours or just want to spend some time telling people about how great our club is, we need some volunteers to work at our booth on September 28th at Silver Springs State Park in Yorkville, IL.
The Northern Illinois Hunting and Fishing Days http://www.nihfd.org/ is a free family event with hands on learning activities such as a climbing wall, bow fishing, tying your own fly, exploring the living history area, catching a fish in their stocked kid's fishing pond or shooting a shotgun. There are demonstrations and seminars from pro casting in the Hawg Trough Tank to field/gun dogs. For more information on the event go to http://www.nihfd.org

Sporting Clay Clinic
Monday, October 7th & Tuesday, October 8th
Would you like to take your sporting clay game to the next level? Why not fine tuning your skills to increase your breaking percentage.
This is a perfect opportunity to get professional instruction on Sporting Clays on our course. Dave Barnes is a premiere instructor and has been instructing for over 30 years and owns Maui Sporting Clay's in Hawaii. He has competed in all clay disciplines up to the National level.
Here is a testimonial from one of our club members:
"I have taken 3 lessons with Dave Barnes and every time I have learned to correct a few mistakes and added broken targets to the score sheet. Dave focuses on the basis, but he can help any shooter. What I like about Dave is he can see a problem or potential problem, he will explain what you are doing and why it is affecting your shooting and then work with you on a solution. He has several tips which will help even the most seasoned shooter add a few targets. Take this opportunity to get better at the sport you enjoy!"

Membership
It has come to my attention that we are currently unable to process Proximity Cards for Membership. We at the SCSC apologize for this inconvenience, and hope to have it rectified as quickly as possible. We will let Membership know when the problem is corrected.
Please remember our club is run entirely by volunteer efforts.
Our staff at the front counter is not to blame for these problems, and we ask that you be respectful of them.
Regarding Memberships at the SCSC. To join, membership is obtained through these steps:
1. A prospective member needs one "Primary Sponsor" who needs to be present at the Membership meeting to introduce him/her. 2. Applicant needs two other signatures on a completed application. 3. Copy of his/her FOID card. Following joining an applicant has 6 months to complete 8 work hours and attend an Orientation Meeting. These meetings are held every other month on works days at 12:30, meeting by the kitchen. (Feb, April, June, Aug, Oct, Dec).
The safety meeting is held following the Membership meeting, and is mandatory. The safety meeting IS NOT the Orientation Meeting. Once an applicant has completed the necessary requirements, he/she is voted in by the Board of Directors. He/she then needs to complete a Machine Training Class, taught by the staff, held monthly on workdays at 12:00PM. You cannot attend this class until you have been voted in as a Full Member. Once this class is completed the Member will be able to activate his/her Proximity card and purchase keys to the buildings. Special Orientation Meeting 9/26 I will be teaching a special Orientation meeting this Thursday (9/26) at 5:00, before league for those Probationary Members in need of attending who can't make it on Saturdays. Good shooting, Duncan Fiedler Membership, SCSC
