July 22, 2016

For many months we have been talking about the Broadway District Plan.  This plan, in the works now for a couple years, will create new guidelines for how businesses and residents along the highway should look.  The City has hosted numerous workshops and solicited community input to be sure we get the plan just the way you want it.  The plan includes lists of the types of businesses that can set up shop and how the businesses should look.  Where should residences go along the highway?  Should there be any more drive-thru businesses?  What about big-box types stores?  What style of architecture do we want?  What about landscaping and pathways?  These are some of the detailed questions that will be answered in this plan.  We have received lots of feedback on general concepts, but this coming Tuesday evening will be the first chance we have to start looking at the details.  On Tuesday evening, July 26, the City Council will meet at 6:30 PM and review the first sections of what will be a lengthy and comprehensive report.  Sound dull?  It won't be, I promise.  Come on down and lets hammer out the details.

Headed to the Wetlands for a walk this weekend?  Please remember your mosquito repellant!  The mosquitos are quite happy, thank you, in their ponds out there and indications of West Nile Virus were detected in the area.  Don't let them make a feast of you!  For more information about West Nile Virus and staying mosquito safe, go HERE.
