The Watson Ranch development proposal includes approximately 1250 homes ranging from single-family homes to townhomes and apartments, a hotel, a new elementary school, public parks and trails, and more. The project would provide new amenities for our community, but will also require improvements to address the impacts on traffic, water usage, and more. It is important that we understand the whole picture before making a decision about the project. At long last, the Watson Ranch Specific Plan and Environmental Impact Report are ready for public review. We have held several workshops over the years, but now you can review the project in its entirety by clicking here.
If you would like to read a hard copy, we have one at City Hall, 4381 Broadway, at the Planning Counter on the second floor, or at the library, 300 Crawford Way. There will be numerous meetings over the next few months. The first meeting will be held as a Joint Parks and Community Services Commission/Open Space Advisory Committee workshop on Monday, July 25th to discuss parks, trails, and recreational services, and the Planning Commission will host a workshop on the Environmental Impact Report on Thursday, July 28th. Both workshops will be held at City Hall.

American Canyon 9/11 Memorial
In 2009, the City of Napa and American Canyon Fire Protection District obtained approval from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to receive pieces of remnant steel from the World Trade Center. A 9/11 Memorial in American Canyon will be located at the Public Safety Facility using the remnants. The monument attests to the triumph of human dignity and affirms our unwavering commitment to our community and our nation.
Fundraising is a critical component of the project and members of the project team are working to raise the needed funds to begin construction in time for the monument to be completed in time to hold a dedication on September 11, 2016.
For more information about the American Canyon 9/11 Memorial and how you can help, contact Firefighter Josh Cordeiro by email or call (707) 551-0650.

National Night Out - August 2nd
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. Last year more than 20 neighborhoods in American Canyon hosted block parties, enjoyed by 500 friends and family members. Everyone has a really good time and police, fire and city officials make stops at each party with cool vehicles, McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog and gift bags. For more information or to register your party, email American Canyon Community Resource Officer, Cecil Brown, or call (707) 551-0600.
