One last reminder:  The City of American Canyon has partnered with Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association (PCFMA) to bring you the American Canyon Farmers' Market! Come by and visit the American Canyon Farmers' Market on Sunday, May 1st from 10 AM - 2 PM at the Phillip West Aquatic Center.  We will have farmers market bags for the first 500 families.  The PCFMA publishes a monthly market newsletter, below, giving you all the latest news about the market.  If you want to stay in touch with the market, sign up for their newsletter

While we want you to come out this Sunday for the grand opening, we also want you to come out every Sunday.  The farmers won't bring their products to us if we don't buy...so please make the market a Sunday habit for your family.  See you there!

WELCOME THE NEW AMERICAN CANYON FARMERS' MARKET!

Join us at the American Canyon Farmers' Market Grand Opening on Sunday, May 1st. Featuring Northern California's freshest fruits and vegetables, live music, and fun activities like face painting and crafts for all ages.  The market, located in the Phillip West Aquatic Center Parking Lot at 100 Benton Way, will be open every Sunday from 10am to 2pm, and will operate through October 30. The entire American Canyon community is invited to join in opening day ceremonies with a ribbon cutting at 12pm.

Hope Rodriguez, American Canyon Farmers' Market Manager, said, "Creating a community gathering place that American Canyon residents can be proud of is an important focus for this market. We have a lot of fun activities planned for the community to enjoy, including a monthly enter-to-win drawing, a Mother's Day Celebration on May 8, sponsored by the American Canyon Moms' Club, and a live cooking demonstration on May 29 featuring PCFMA's Cookin' the Market Chef Mario."

A dozen California farmers and other local food producers are expected to be selling their products in the market on opening day. There will be a constantly changing and colorful variety of seasonal California produce available, including sweet strawberries from BerryLicious and juicy stone fruit from Resendiz Farms, along with fresh fish from FreshWay Fish. The market will also feature handcrafted cheese from Dacheva Son's Cheese Company from Petaluma, delicious hot food from Julie's Roasted Corn and Potatoes in American Canyon, and much more. There will even be local honey and cut flowers!

Shop your farmers' market for Mother's Day brunch ingredients and Memorial Day picnic necessities. You can't beat the local flavor, the sense of community, and the camaraderie among your farmers, friends, neighbors and local businesses. Enjoy!
