Once again American Canyon has been blessed. Aside from a couple of flooded streets, your city largely escaped damage. In the late summer, city crews spent considerable time clearing culverts from years of overgrown grasses and brush. They also worked this week to clear drains and be ready for the big storm. The work paid off: there were no incidents of water rising into homes, no weather related police and fire calls, and all the drainage basins did their jobs.

Thanksgiving has passed, but today I am thankful for the 18 maintenance guys out in the pouring rain and wind who kept my city safe.
