Just a quick heads up regarding an important meeting you may not want to miss...
Joint Meeting
Parks & Community Services Commission &
Open Space Advisory Committee
Wednesday June 4
6:30 PM
City Council Chambers, second floor of City Hall
By now you are aware that the City has received an application for a new subdivision on the east side of town, north of Vintage Ranch. The new project, Watson Ranch and the Napa Valley Ruins and Gardens, was formerly known as the Town Center. The project encompasses roughly 300 acres and the developer is seeking approval for:
-1,541 residential units (including a mix of low, medium and high density)
-220,000 square feet of commercial/retail
-200 room hotel
-parks and open space, including a plaza and outdoor entertainment areas, and
-an elementary school
City staff members are working with the developer to address the project impacts on traffic, water and other public services. The parks and open space amenities proposed for the project are a very important elements of the plan, and on Wednesday evening this week the City's Parks and Community Services Commission (PCS) will meet in joint session with the Open Space Advisory Committee (OSAC) to hear the developer's proposal for parks, trails and open space in Watson Ranch. They will also be taking community feedback and providing direction to staff regarding the project. If you are interested in parks and recreation facilities in town and want to know more about what the developer is proposing for these features, attend this important meeting!
