It was a roller coaster ride for REDD+ at the 18th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC-COP18), which took place from November 26th to December 7th. Negotiators took a pass on finalizing key elements of an international mechanism to reduce emissions from tropical deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+)- the second largest source of the second largest source of emissions that cause climate change.
