 Bus Behavior

This is the time of year where we start getting more behavior referrals from our bus drivers. I think there are many reasons for this - students are feeling more comfortable with the setting... the weather has changed... bus drivers who have been working with some behaviors are now feeling they need support from the school. Please take a moment to talk with your child about the bus and the expected behaviors. This includes waiting at the stop, sitting on the bus, talking only with the students next to them.

Thanks for this added effort, families.

Vision 21 Student Identification

Vision 21 services in both math and reading are designed to meet the learning needs of the top 10% of Wayzata students based on academic achievement and ability by the following:

    1. Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test - measures student achievement in reading and in math
    2. Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) - designed to measure learned reasoning ability
    3. Classroom observation data

The families of newly identified second through fifth grade students are being notified by letter the week of November 10-14. Students who have previously been identified for Vision 21 services will continue in the program.

You can find your child's MAP and CogAT results in Skyward Family Access under "Test Results" by going to
www.wayzata.k12.mn.us/FamilyAccess

For further information or questions, please contact your school's Vision 21 Teacher or Dr. Karla Thompson, Director of Personalized Learning and Interventions, at 763-745-5094.
