PBIS
Birchview received a grant from the state of MN to proceed with PBIS - Positive Behavior Intervention and Support. PBIS is a program that will assist Birchview staff in creating a more positive overall school-wide approach to student behavior. A team of eight staff members will work with a coach to create a system specifically designed for Birchview. Look for more details on this program late this summer.

You can learn more about PBIS by clicking here.
Tree Trust

Planting day is just around the corner! On May 8 the Tree Trust will be at Birchview planting 57 trees and bushes in the nature center and behind the school. Each class will have an opportunity to plant a tree that day. We need 12-14 parents in the morning and 12-14 parents in the afternoon. Parents are welcome to volunteer for half the day or for a full day. Not only do we need parents to help classes, we have more trees than classes so volunteers will also get to plant their own trees, too!

If you are interested in volunteering, please click here to sign up.

This is also the day of the Ice Cream Social so we will be celebrating as a whole community that evening as well.
Tree Trust - Continued

Planting day is not the end of rebuilding our nature center. We are recruiting volunteers to help with watering over the summer. We are also in great need of ice cream pails. Please send any extra ice cream pails you have to school. We need 100-120 for watering this summer.

Thanks for sending them in!
2013/14 Yearbooks

PTA Board Position
Vice President of PTA Board Position Open for the 2014-15 School Year!
Are you interested in having more of a direct impact at Birchview?  Would you like to be part of a great team, working to better the school? The Vice President of the PTA is a wonderful way to be involved at Birchview.  The Vice President position is a two year term, first as VP, then as President.  This is a fantastic way to have a direct impact on your child's life at Birchview.  And, by taking a position like this, you show your child how much you care about his/her school!
For more information, contact Nichola Schoenfelder, 2013-14 President, at
[email protected] or Leslie Brindley, 2014-15 President, at [email protected].
