Birchview is now on Twitter! Please feel free to follow us for news, announcements and special happenings at the greatest school on earth. Our address is @WPS_Birchview. |
Each day at Birchview begins with announcements. We play a song, share building news, acknowledge birthdays, students tell jokes and once a week we hear Words of Wisdom. "Words of Wisdom" come from a curriculum entitled Project Wisdom.
Last week we included the first Words of Wisdom in the Thursday Folder. We will continue to share them throughout the remainder of the year. If you would like to see some of the jokes students tell, please follow us on Twitter. @WPS_Birchview.
Words of Wisdom
DOING ONE'S BEST
Nancy Lopez is a world-class golfer. When she first started playing golf, people began to notice her hard work and positive attitude. She became a big winner at a young age and went on to win many important championships in her long career. This highly-respected Hispanic-American woman once said this about winning:
You can't win all the time. As long as you are doing the best you can, that's important.
That's good advice. Ask yourself today: Am I doing my best? If the answer is "yes": Congratulations! You'll wind up a winner.
With something to think about, this is Birchview Elementary . Make it a great day... or not. The choice is yours.

Birchview Kids' College
Friday, April 25, 2014
Kids' College is an annual event in which Birchview students register for classes that introduce them to new interests, hobbies, cultures or vocation possibilities. The format for the event allows each child to participate in two different classes, each of which is 45 minutes in length. The more variety in the classes offered, the more enjoyable the event is for the kids.
We need your help and want to encourage you to be a part of this year's Kids' College. Don't let words like teach, professor, or college scare you. Come and share an interest, hobby, or your vocation with your children's friends and classmates. The instructors do not have to be Birchview parents. If you know someone who would be willing to teach a class, please let us know.
The following is a list of ideas and suggestions for Kids' College classes, but you are not limited to this list. Be creative! What classes would your child and their friends like to see offered at Kids' College?
