What's New This Week
This week's Thursday Folder contains updates about I Love to Read Month such as the dress up day and fundraiser to slime the teachers!  Don't forget to sign up to help at the Book Fair if you haven't done so already. There is an update from student council that benefits the American Heart Association. You will also find an opportunity to join the PTA as the volunteer coordinator for next year as well as information about accessing your child's progress report that was provided last week.

Do you enjoy volunteering at school?  Are you a social, outgoing person who likes to help coordinate events?  We need you!
The Volunteer Coordinator brings people together to chair and volunteer for events throughout the school year.  They are also another vital member of the PTA Board, which meets monthly to make financial and executive decisions for the betterment of Birchview.

Family Access for Progress Reports
To see your child's progress report online, start at Family Access.

You will need a username and password to gain access. If you do not have your username, use the "forgot your login/password" link at the bottom. Any issues beyond that please contact the help desk at [email protected] or 763-745-5100.

Once logged in you will select your child from the drop down menu at the top, if you only have one child in district they will automatically be selected for you. On the left side, select "report cards" and click on the latest report.

Paper copies were mailed out yesterday.   
What's Happening in Community Education?
Winter and Spring WISHES classes are now open for registration!  To browse class offerings and register, visit www.ceregistration.wayzata.k12.mn.us .
  • Babysitter Training Course - This course is essential for any young person interested in babysitting!  Next class starts February 23.  Must be 11 years or older.
  • MathWiz Enrichment - For advanced math students.  The MathWiz program helps students develop problem solving skills and prepares them for math competitions.  New classes starting March 5.
  • Project Runway: Riding Cape - Learn hand stitching and sewing machine techniques in this fun hands-on class.  Sew your own Riding Cape and take it home!
  • Angry Birds and More App Art - "Slingshot" your young artist into the incredible world of art in this fun class!
  • Super Hero Film School - Batman, Superman, Spiderman or Wonder Women!  Pick your favorite characters to star in your own mini movie.
  • Art Studio Level 2 and 3 - Try all new lessons in this fun art class!  Students will draw, paint, create with duct tape and more!
  • Extreme Lego Pulleys -   New and returning students welcome!  Build a crane, conveyor belt and more.  Use these to investigate pulley concepts.
