Dear WNBA Community,
I'm so pleased that my first communication to you as national president of the WNBA is to let you know about changes to The Bookwoman.
In an effort to communicate more frequently, effectively, and efficiently, we are converting the national newsletter to an all-digital publication that will be delivered in HTML format to your e-mail inbox using a program called Constant Contact.
Most importantly, this allows us to publish more issues of The Bookwoman, which means that you'll have more opportunities to share news with your WNBA colleagues across the country and more opportunities to hear about what's going on at the national level and in chapters other than yours. It's all an effort to increase networking among the members of the WNBA book community.
Here's the publication schedule for the coming season with highlights of the first two issues mentioned:
Fall -- September. Our premier issue will include highlights from WNBA's National Meeting
in LA; Book Expo and the Pannell Award; and a preview of National Reading Group Month (NRGM) events across the country.
NRGM Special Edition -- October. Great Group Reads selections and planned National Reading Group Month events across the country.
Winter -- December
Spring -- March
Summer -- June
The mechanics of this new approach are simple--we will have updated mailing lists before every issue from each chapter, which will allow us to communicate with you directly concerning updates and information you need to know. And if you prefer to read The Bookwoman in print, we will be designing it so that you can print it easily from your own computer.
I hope you'll find that this new digital version makes The Bookwoman more useful and valuable than ever before. Your comments and suggestions are welcome as always; please send them to newsletter@wnba-books.org.
We on the national board are looking forward to communicating with you on a regular basis.
Best wishes,
Valerie Tomaselli
WNBA National President
