Our Reader Services Coordinator, Elaine Schall, is retiring this month after 40 years of service. We will miss her enthusiasm, her guidance, but most of all her presence amongst our books and patrons. Elaine has touched many lives during her time at the Osterhout, and we cannot thank her enough for her hard work and dedication. We wish you the best, Elaine. Happy Retirement!

 Celebrate Christmas with Snoopy at the North Branch
The North Branch will host a Snoopy Christmas party on Monday, December 16 at 6pm. There will be Snoopy holiday movies, crafts, games, prizes, and snacks. Please register by calling 570-822-4600.

 Merry Magazines
Help the library decorate its Christmas tree by donating to the Merry Magazine fund to help defray the cost of magazines and newspapers in 2014. Stop by the Info Services Desk anytime, choose a paper ornament, fill it out, and hang it on the tree. Donations of $5 or more can be made to the fund anonymously or in someone's name. Gifts of $20 or more can be used to select a favorite magazine from our list. You will also be recognized for your generosity the entire year of 2014 with a plate in each issue of the magazine you select to sponsor. Find out more details here.

Stop by the final 2013 Third Friday Art Walk!
The Library is the place to be on Friday, December 20th from 5-8pm. Visit Downtown Wilkes-Barre and the Osterhout Free Library to support local art and artists. Take a self-guided walking tour of the Osterhout's varied paintings, photography and other art forms that line our walls. Snacks and refreshments will be provided to guests. Check local papers and www.thirdfridaywb.com for the map of participating venues each month. This a FREE event.
