You can now enjoy your favorite books in eBook format! There are over 1,500 eBooks in our collection with more added every day. Anyone with access to an internet connection can download books. eBooks are compatible with most portable devices.

It was a great night for a Gala...
The annual library gala was held October 4th at the Westmoreland Club. It was a huge success and raised over $45,000 for the library. Thanks to the many sponsors and guests who attended the gala. Did you hear? Shirley Temple is coming to the Osterhout
A Shirley Temple film fest is coming to the library this Saturday, Nov 9th. Her film Bright Eyes, featuring the famous 'On the Good Ship Lollipop' song will start at 12:30pm, followed by a mini tap dance lesson by the David Blight School of Dance. Then the classic film, Curly Top will begin at 2:30pm. Snacks, refreshments and ice cream will be served in the Reading Room for all attendees, young and old alike. Call the Youth Services Dept at 570.823.0156 x 217 to make a reservation for one or both films. More details here. Calling all Gamers!
International Games Day is Saturday, November 9th from 10am to 2pm. We'll play Wii games and board games. New this year is TAPPLE, CROSSWAYS, RODEO RUMMY, and SQUARE SHOOTERS. There will also be light refreshments and prizes. All ages are welcome. Call 570.821.1959 for details.

Stop by the Third Friday Art Walk!
The Library is the place to be for the November 15th Art Walk from 5-8pm. Visit Downtown Wilkes-Barre and the Osterhout Free Library to support local art and artists. Take a self-guided walking tour of the Osterhout's varied paintings, photography and other art forms that line our walls. Wine, water, popcorn, cheese and crackers will be provided to guests. Check local papers and www.thirdfridaywb.com for the map of participating venues each month. This a FREE event.
