The Rooftop Party is this Friday!
Join us for the 5th Annual Rooftop Party to benefit the Osterhout Library North Branch this Friday, August 9, 5-8pm on the top level of the Intermodal Center in downtown Wilkes-Barre. $15 pre event, $20 at the door. Tickets include food, entertainment and alcoholic beverages and can be purchased at all Osterhout Library branches. Event is rain or shine. Must be 21 to attend. Jay Smar presents Coal Mining Songs of the Northeast
This Thursday, August 8th at 6pm, Commonwealth Speaker for the PA Humanities Council, Jay Smar will bring his informative yet musical program, "Coal Mining Songs of the Northeast" to the Library's Reading Room. The program will highlight the struggles and disasters of coal miners in NEPA. The presentation is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. See more Library events.

Third Friday Art Walk at the Library
Third Friday Wilkes-Barre is back and painting the town! Experience the revitalized art walk from 5-8pm every month, while supporting local art and artists. Take a self-guided tour of the Osterhout's varied paintings, photography and other art forms that line our walls. Wine, water, popcorn, cheese and crackers will be provided to guests. Check local papers and www.thirdfridaywb.com for the map of participating venues. This is a FREE event. Stop by Friday, August 16th for a special concert on our patio by local band, Zayre Mountain.
